For those of you that film your fun with your partner &/or others what do you use?

So far we have just used our phone but thinking of investing in a camera (with film function) a camcorder or a GoPro

Can you recommend a particular product, why do you like it, pros & cons over another product etc

I've been looking online but as I have no basic knowledge it's a little bit like information overload

Thanks in advance for any advice/comments

Te image quality on a go pro is excellent, unfortunately, the mic picks up a lot too, so any ruffle of a sheet for example would be picked up loudly if the camera was close by. They are extremely versatile though too and easy to use.

I have used them for extreme sports, but never for recording sexual fun... yet

Thank you both for your replies

I hadn't even considered a camera or a GoPro until I started doing some research online, it's a minefield out there, luckily we aren't in a rush so I will look at your suggestions & consider all options

Thanks again

Canon HD camcorder with three mics.

Later the AVCHD stream is imported into video editing software to tweak the colour and remove dead time and the soundtrack converted to 5.1

Finally I burn a Blu Ray and keep a backup file offline on an external hard drive. If the other party wants a copy they can have almost any conceivable donestic format.

I don't often record my fun...but when I do, it's done properly.

Snide Go-Pros from China off eBay. 3 for the price one one Go-Pro and the quality is easily comparable. They also come with pretty much every adapter you can think of.

I think it depends on how professional you want/need to be.

The first pic on our profile is a still from a film we made. (Her made it arty by turning it b&w!).

We bought an £8 gorilla-type clamp/tripod which came with a bluetooth remote control, clamped to a pot plant!. And we used it with Hers' Samsung phone, recording in HD.

For good lighting/film anywhere, it's more than adequate.

But I guess we'd best test it out with a third person on the couch with us Ladies, castings begin shortly

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

SJM4000 is a cheap Go-Pro esque camera that is apparently 90% as good for 40% of the price.

The advantage of the go pro type is that there are waterproof housings....so good for showers, baths, squirters, and the housing will also reduce noise.

If you found yourself filming a lot, you could then invest in a "proper" camera as well, most of which will do full HD video these days.

We film ourselves a lot to watch back. Some of our pics here we take from what we film.

Go pros are great fun especially for the close up action as you get quite a lot in to the shot still.

Also great as you can control it from your phone

Thanks everyone

GoPro'ers is there a particular model you'd recommend

I'm torn between the hero 4 with LCD screen on a sj4000 imitation GoPro much cheaper to see how we get in with it

I have the Gopro 3+ black and the 4 black - neither of which have the screen.

Personally, the screen seemed like a potential battery drain (battery life is a weakness of all of these things - there isn't room for a big one!), especially given that the companion app can perform the same function (albeit that requires the wifi on, which isn't ideal for the battery either). Extended battery packs can be added, but would cover the screen if there was one.

However, if you're filming indoors, there'll be a plug socket, so battery life may be less of a concern to you.

If you're considering paying "full goPro" prices, I'd go that route for two reasons. First, there'll be decent deals anyway at the moment, as the recent launch of the Hero 5 renders the Hero 4 obsolete (despite not being a significant upgrade, IMO). Second, it IS the better device of the two.

My mate's a downhill mountain biker and we attached both to his bike for a couple of runs. There was no difference between the two (other than cost) when they were ABX'd.

Never really filmed anything but my phone has 4k recording technology and a 20mp cam. Does that not make any secondary camera useless?

No, because it's using a sensor that's the size of your little fingernail. Not all 4K, 20mp cameras are made equal.
