Really... So you guys have hereditary titles and non hereditary titles?
I'm confused..... I thought once given a title it is passed down forever.... I've met a few people that went out of their way to let me know they are decendants of Barons and Dukes. Please educate a Yank |

you can buy these titles as well. i know coz my cousin is a dame and had a ceremony for that but her dad bought her the title. |

I used to go to the same night club as lenny Henry, back in the day, and dated a guy, 2 doors down from him........before he found fame obviously, happy days in Dudley......Blackacre Road.....sorry went on a bit of a tangent there  |

Sorry OP but a foreign national can only get an honorary knighthood, doesn't get dubbed and can't use it as a form of address. It's in the rules. |

I did a search for Black Knights and ended up playing a computer game for 3 hours....
Weird world; don't worry Mr OP, we are so old fashioned here we have a house of lords, which are basically our unelected government, we live under an illusion of democracy, we like it, I am not sure why... |
