Don't read this is you are easily grossed out or do so at your own caution!
Hi all!
Mia here.
I was on the contraceptive injection for around 2 years and after I got it done my period pretty much disappeared apart from the odd spotting which soon disappeared as well.
But I changed from the injection to the implant which I've now had in for a year with no bleeding issues until today...
Now I know this is quite normal for someone on the implant and that's fine but I wondering in terms of swinging what does this mean.
I know a lot of people are grossed out by blood (even small amounts) and seem to be even more grossed out by periods. I'm only getting light spotting at the moment so I'm wondering can that be stopped or if it's just something I should accept and warn people about before we meet them?
I've spoken to sexual health clinic but all they said was that it was normal and that I could go on the pill as well as that can stop the spotting but it doesn't always work.
So I'm just hoping for some advice as last time I had spotting it lasted 3 months??

If it is just spotting, I don't see what the issue would be. As long as you explain to anyone your meeting so that they know, then its their choice to make.
I thought it was gonna be something much more worse lol.

Some people are immature about bodily fluids! So I thought I'd warn ahah. And okay that's fair enough
Thank you

I'm on my third implant and I have occasional spotting (not for months now) but when it does happen, it is never been more than two days how long does yours last?
When I had my first implant, it took about six months before it settled down. |

~Mia" Some people might be put off because of the oral play ... I'd try the pill and see if that works |

Just make sure you choose understanding people. I had a meet that turned dreadfully horrendous because I started bleeding. (Even though looking back I think he caused the bleed)
I was left shaken and scared but thankfully left relatively unharmed.
I'm sure the majority of people won't have an issue with it. |

Yeah would always warn them beforehand that it could happen so all parties were aware

I don't think there is anything to worry about, and hopefully it will soon settle down....like I said my first year I had mini periods every two weeks for at least six months, I would persevere for a bit longer if I were you but good luck x |

Nothing could be more natural! Would not bother me at all, if other people have a problem then it's their problem. |

That's good to know! Think most people are mature adults and realise it is natural.

If it is just spotting then you could try Beppe or joy division sponge tampons, you can have normal penetrative sex with one inside
I'm on the Depo injection so thankfully no more periods for me

Oh I've never heard of those. Will need to have a look. And I was on the Depo and was on it for 2 years with spotting the firdt few months but after a few months it stopped but moved to implant and had nothing for a year and a bit but had spotting for a few days which seems to have stopped now.

"The girl being on hasn't ever stopped me just put some blankets down and then have the finally in the shower "
It's not even heavy enough for that it's literally just a spot here and there. And our shower is no way big enough for that haha.

Some people are put off by the metallic taste. (It's the iron in the blood). Personally it has never bothered me. If you let people know in advance then it is their choice....and you will need to accept it as they do/don't according to personal taste. |

Of course I would warn all we meet previously and if they didn't want to then that's fine.
