I don't think there is 'a most important aspect' it's a form of relationship that needs a lot of different aspects to be there for it to work for any given people.
Trust, communication, complete honesty with yourself as well as your partner, chemistry, imagination, empathy, understanding, integrity, awareness of ones abilities and to a degree limits for one or the other.
All of those have to be there for a D/s relationship to work long term imho |
