So we went for my regular check last week urine checks given on the day and blood tests usually take 3-4 days and you get a text message. All good I might add. A very easy and str8 forward system.
Just wondering what other people's experience of GUM clinics are and how often you get tested. |

We go every six weeks , bloods every other time .
Simple , straightforward , and no problems .
The free condoms come in very handy .
The hep jabs for free are a nice bonus too |

In our area they send you a pack which you take blood sample and sample from cervix and post them to the clinic. Results back in less than a week. Ive used this service a couple of time in the last year.. its so much better than waiting for an hour in the clinic. |

We get checked regularly (and, we might say, have never had a problem).
The clinic in Suffolk is fantastic. Little waiting time, non judgemental physicians, quick results and lots and lots of free condoms.
What's not to like? |

We go every 6 months max. It's a walk in centre so tend to go after a night shift on way home. Straight in and out that way.
People on the scene who don't go are very irresponsible. To their own and others health. Which often makes us wonder about those who play without their partners knowledge. Xxxxx |

Every 28 days & get our certs/letters a week later, we need photo id with passport number or driving licence number to prove its you which is a good system as it stops people taking tests for others. |

Hard to get an appointment as hard to get through on phone. Clinic in RVH Belfast works on no news is good news but can take 2 weeks. which I don't think is good. Last test I got a message to call the clinic. Needless to say big panic 38 calls before finally getting through. Turned out to be only that my hep vaccine need updating. Otherwise always clear. Could have done without the stress LOL |

"Our experience has been all good. Friendly, professional , quick results by text.
We got hep jabs too.
Everybody should do it regularly."
Interesting, I am also in Sheffield and had my last test last month. I was assured I would get a text whatever the result. I heard nothing after 2 weeks so rang up to be told there was a huge backlog of negative results texts, and no text was good news as I would have had an immediate phone call if there was anything positive.
I am still waiting for the text! |
