You could create a separate profile i guess just for fab friends. Sounds like a good idea OP

Yes but isn't that the point of this site in the first place?

There is a group on FB it's not an open group it's secret so only members can see the posts

but members can then see other things or find people's real profiles.

I dont think its quite the same. One thing you can do is join a group discussion on facebook and i think fb is a bit more user friendly.

No way! I wouldn't want my friends, family or colleagues knowing about this part of my life. It's my little secret

The only worry I would have .. is if someone managed to get hold of my main fb profile and use that against me or post my pics. I am sure all fabbers that you add on the facebook are genuine and just want to chat. But not sure how secure it would be when I have a separate personal facebook account.

IVe just looked it up. It's a 'closed group' which means anyone can see who is in it!! Not the best of ideas.

It wouldn't surprise me if that's enough to have your search logged and for fab Facebookers to pop up in your 'suggested users' list.

Yep, may not be able to see what is posted in there but I can see a list of every single member and therefore lol through their profiles

Also, facebook 'suggests' groups to me (many that are closed just like the fab one) that my friends have joined. I don't think I'd want Fabswingers group to pop up on all my friends/families timelines as a suggestion saying "sassy is a member"

There and to the left a bit

Nope not for me...my Facebook is locked down tightly after I had a run in with Britain First about 18 months ago and they managed to connect my Facebook profile with my LinkedIn one and then contact my employer to complain of "harrassment" (which mercifully my employer saw right through), either way not risking that kind of exposure again by joining any groups related to *this* aspect of my life.

If your discreet and dont want your priv/personal info and more harvested, by computer goons & worrying wierdo's who know how to harvest such stuff, then joining a 'swingers' facebook group aint a wise idea. Be the group it private/secret once they know your fb profile there's ways and means strange un's operate around it.

Up to them ultimtely but there's plenty using swinging as a cover story for something else.

Facebook has a poor record in regards to respecting people's privacy. If you were to create a separate swinging account and FB realised this, they would be quite happy to merge the accounts and out you to your friends and family.

Facebook will scan everything including ur phone / pic / email contacts etc...wether u like it or not...

They in turn will recommend the group / your fake profile to everyone you know twice removed...

If u value any privacy Facebook no matter how you approach it is a bad idea

My tuppence worth

I have created a seperate FB account and keep it for fab friends only. Locked it down so (hopefully) nobody except invited friend's can see what's on it.

However once I added a fellow fab friends phone number to my mobile, Facebook came up with him as a suggested friend. Tumbled this as he had used the same photo on both sites. On Fab he was single, on Facebook he was in a relationship with a pregnant partner. Soon blocked him on both, to save him being asked awkward questions.

FB keeps offering "Fab folk" we may know as potential friends.
