Blocking People

We have been critized in the past for indiscriminately blocking people, but we hold this _iew, we have stated on our profile what we are looking for, if somebody mails us who does not meet that criteria then we block them from mailing us again, let’s give a example, we state on our profile we do not wish to meet Bi-Sexual males, so if we get a email from a Bi-Sexual or Bi-Sexual curious bloke we will block them, it’s the same with Smoking, I smoke now and then ( I know...disgusting habit ) but if we get a email from a bloke who say’s “Won’t meet Smokers” on his profile then we block them, in the past we have replied and stated the reason, then usually they reply saying they will make a exception etc etc.... but I am not interested in being a exception, so cannot see the point in carrying on the conversation, so prefer to just block those who do not meet the criteria, and to be frank fully honest, if they cannot be bothered to read our profile for what we are looking for and mail us anyway then is it really our problem?
Just curious if other people block people who do not meet what they are looking for, or are we being a bit harsh.

We dont use block unless they really piss me off. Even though they are not what we are looking for we dont block them because they can become.great.friends |

Up to u who ya wanna block...but its best in MY opinion, that u dont block ppl that u simply arent interested in...unless they fuck u off!-To me it depends on what u like doing,I like the social side of swinging hence i dont have many id block for no particular reason.

A member who we had blocked due to having "Wont Meet Smokers" who we did actually email and give our reasons, rejoined the site using another name and sent us an abusive email, this was forwarded to admin last week and he was removed. |

i block for the same reasons! there no point in my opinion, in getting pestered with the same shitty messages when im clearly not interested or when they not in age range or have certain things stated like wont meet smokers/fat birds etc x |

Maybe i'm just unlucky on here but I do get quite a few abusive replies to my messages and then blocked before I can reply.
I haven't blocked anyone on here so far as I'd much rather make friends than burn bridges at every turn.

we only block people who have been rude ,a pain ,or plain creepy...example;a local single guy was our friend on here,until he knew when I [mrs a sexy]had a day off,messages sent like "oh did you enjoy your bike ride today?"and you look lovely in that green top I saw you in etc.he got blocked! we personally wouldnt block someone who didnt meet our preferences though I can see why people do |

we answer the vast majority of emails, we receive (about 3 a month lol) as its only polite to do so.
when we get a one liner saying eg. 'like to shag your slut' from someone who joined last week from hundreds of miles away its block and delete.
pretty much the same as not sending cheques to dodgy fuckers in far off places really. |

I always asked to be blocked if there is no interest. It's easy to do on the message page or profile page and it's quicker than writing a reply. It also stops me looking like a desperate pest erm I mean over attentive! |

As others have already said the block tool is to be used as you see fit.
What ever works for you!
Personally we only block someone if they are abusive or if they keep emailing us despite being told several times we are not interested. |

well i dont block people unless they block me...but sometimes i take the blocks off...guess i just like showing my profile off lol....and think ive said before...its amazing that some people change their opinion on u after time and unblock u, possibly meet!!!!
of course blocking fuckwads is rather vital if they are nuisances/aggressive |

Im a fiest Yorkshire woman I block all bi/bi curious/TV/TS/ some smokers/some who just look creepy (to me, may look like Greek God to the next woman)/ sometimes I block because they keep looking and make no contact so I feel "web" stalked. Of course these may be people I meet out and about and have a good laugh with, but I judge on "paper" the new contacts and like anyone reserve the right to block who ever -Im quite sure some who read our dogmatic profile will have blocked me! Its not as if there is a shortage of people on this site. The good ,thebad and the ugly - but we all decide this for ourselves isnt that the point of a profile and photos to have some way of initial sceening.xx |

It's already been said blocking is kind of a personal thing !! if you state on your profile what you are looking for and people send messages who are not in your criteria then it's your choice to block and rightly so.
But there can be instances where the messenger does meet your criteria but for whatever reason you don't fancy the person, Do you then block straight away or message them back saying thanks for the message but although you meet our criteria we feel you are not for us !!!
I think I would do that but luckily or not lol I haven't been in that situation.
It's horses for courses do what you think is roight for you and carry on havin fun !!!!

When I first joined I used to block people who had said no thanks so I didn't bother them again by accident.
Then when I started using the forums I realised it wasn't necessarily a good move as I like to banter with people in PM's.
When you're a site supporter you can see if you've mailed or winked someone before anyway.
I do block single blokes in privacy settings, but only to avoid me having to wade through all the 'straight' and bi blokes in my 'looked at me' list. |

Considering ive been on here nearly 3 years and spoken to probably 100s of people my block list is'nt that big really
some people live by the button and some are'nt fussed with it at all,its there to be used if you want to use it |
