No, but I wouldn't meet someone without speaking to them at least over the phone. Gives a little more reassurance that they aren't filling you full of shit, and I would imagine you'd want the same reassurances.
If someone who was genuinely interested in meeting was reluctant to do this, I'd wonder what they were hiding. |

I'd give my number out if a meet had been arranged (and would expect the same in return) so I can be contacted or contact in the event of any last minute emergencies/changes of plan etc., but prefer all other contact to be through the site. |

No. Only do what you're comfortable with. If someone thinks it's unreasonable, your not compatible.
We don't always give our number out. If we do, it's only when a meet has been confirmed, the day or so before. Its only to be used if they're running late or cancelling etc.

The people we meet from Fab we regard as friends, so of course we give out our phone number. Most of our regular acquaintances we also know their full names. Why would we want to fuck someone when we don't know who they are - that's not safe surely?!

This is the way to do it OP, can cost as little as a fiver, and you never have to give your real number out.
Our play-phone is ancient though, so sending text messages "old-school" is unbelievably painful

I believe you can..just personally prefer to use my phone...although if it were a deal breaker there's always contact through here to fall back on now that most people have smart phones. |

Used to use phone to call customers at one work place and I had number on facebook. Something went tits up and instead of calling customer services this lady started pestering me and even messaging me on Facebook.
People don't seem to realise it but your info is so easily attainable it's unreal. |

Sometimes I will, sometimes I won't. I often take things over to Whatsapp, so it's hard not to. Block works just as well on my phone as it does on here though, so I'm not too fussed.
Sitting at the back of a basement bar with signal but zero 3G, trying to find enough juice to send a mail on here to let said meet know I was sat at the back in case they had sat at the front - bit if a nightmare! |
