What's the done thing when you spot someone you know from the "Real World" on this site?

While trawling these forums I noticed a familiar face on another user's avatar. Not a close friend, but someone I have on my Facebook friend's list, they are using the same picture on both sites.

I'm not going to name names (or profiles), just curious as to how people handle knowing someone they know is on here?

"Alright mate, Ow's the shaggin website goin' then? init!"

doesn't seem like the most delicate approach...

Seeing as I don't have any pics up for them to view. And like them I've used different names on the profile, there is no chance of them realising who we are.

Was just wondering if there was a secret handshake or way of showing to them that "hey, I'm on there as well. I don't think you are a freak" in a way that won't send them running for the hills.

a friend of ours is on here, he even messaged a few times, we haven't met him for real since it happened, often wonder if we might broach the subject of fab with him or not, he had no idea it was us he messaged

If you don't mind them knowing just keep dropping hints for a laugh...

Did you have a FAB weekend?

Are you getting into the swing of things?

Those sort of lines could keep you amused for hours

I've had many msgs from people who recognise me....not in the slightest bit bothered tbh. Also had one person, who incidentally deleted their profile after sending me a msg along the lines of 'I know u u slag'.

Agreed, if you fancy them send a message.

As Tichy said the ice is already broken and it'd also save time and money on travelling.

London

Say hello or wave,

diving in the same playroom as them, might be something to avoid, but its happened to people I know.

The classic was when a mate with his fiance bumped into her parents at a club. We are led to expect this somewhat rare.

Well up to you but if it's a worry just block them and if you have a facial pic on your profile front page maybe change it.

On the other hand you may have more in common than you thought?

I'd say it all depends on what type of relationship you've got with them. If it's your Mum and Dad then some would say block them. Others would say message them asking what their doing the dirty fuckers lol.

I knew a couple who's son found their profile but they were very open with him and they laughed about it. Others would be horrified!!!

If it's a friend then what type of friend? One from work, a close friend or an aquantence. Again dependant on how comfortable you are with them would depend on how you react.

they should respect your privacy and not bring it up in front of others who may not like the idea.

if its just you and them then maybe but also best to keep conversations brief so there is no misunderstanding about it.
