Does anyone else suffer with really bad nerves before a meet?
We (mainly Mrs) suffer really bad sometimes and it can be hard to find a way of getting past it.
Any sensible ideas would be great ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Lol @ sensible!
I always get nervous before a meet and the day it stops is the day I'll stop meeting ..
I see it more as apprehension and sexual energy.. it just needs channelling .. |

I get really bad nerves too so I make sure first meets are just a social - there is no pressure at all that way and I can relax much more.
When it comes to meeting again its easier because you have already met so its not as nerve wracking.
Strangely I dont get nervous going to a club. Probably because I go with no expectations and I have a good night whether I play or not. |

Let the folk you're going to be meeting know that you're nervous. They'll be prepared for any potential shyness/nerves and will hopefully, seek to put you at ease from the off. |

Yep - always get that adrenaline rush and nerves ahead of meeting someone new - and for the few minutes as we go through the ice-breaker phase. Give it 5 or 10 mins and the adrenaline subsides and it's all good
I've been conscious that I've been literally shaking ahead of a meet before now - not through nerves or fear as such, just the pure adrenaline making it involuntary! |

I get bad nerves too. Mainly because my meets are so few and far between. I just tell myself that whatever happens will happen and its all part of the experience. A few deep breaths help too |

Yeah a little pre meet nerves is always good, I think it keeps me on my toes and I'd be worried when meeting someone new that i wasn't nervous. I tend not to go for Dutch courage and just ride it out ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

We're always nervous ( Mrs moreso). I think nerves can add to the experience. Also think if we come to a time we don't have nerves it might be the end of our fab journey

We both still get really nervous on way to a club, my body pretends it's cold and I shake like an idiot. After 10 mins in the club it Normally settles down tho and I can start to enjoy it then. In a way I quite like it now tho, it adds another element to the night that we can have a laugh about |

I'm definitely nervous before meets, I tend to relax in the thought that we are all here to enjoy ourselves and like some of the other posters have said the nervous spark is part of the experience, I'd be more worried if I wasn't nervous I think! |

I've been there.
My first meet suffered big time!
I'm sorry to admit I bolted with stage fright!
The couple were amazing and gave me another bite at the cherry so to speak a week later.
So embarrassing but I've never worried since.

I've never been nervous meeting anyone. If one particular guy I'm meeting doesn't appreciate my looks or personality--there are plenty more that do. And chances are, anyway, that the feeling is mutual.
Nervousness and excitement are the same physiological response. So, in other circumstances where I do get nervous, I just tell myself I'm excited. Works for me. |

I would call it excitement and anticipation, rather than nerves. The butterfly feeling in my stomach.
The day I stop feeling that way will be the day I stop meeting people. |
