we rarely respond to winks, and prefer to receive a message.
Did respond to one last night though, but it hasn't come to anything.
Can't believe people are too shy to write when they're ok to let you see their bits |

A lot of people see them as lazy and prefer to be sent a message telling them a little about the person and to show that they have actually read the profile they are contacting. |

Most winks we get, it's obvious people haven't read our profile..
If you cant read (or wont) and just look at pictures, then your not for us.
I guarantee, many people are the same and thats why they put that.

Don't think we've ever "winked" at anyone. If we do receive a wink and look at the profile we respond with a message either saying we are interested or sorry not for us. Usually though the reply is READ OUR PROFILE!!!!!!! Because nine out of ten haven't |

I always work on the basis that Winks are a "lazy" way of trying to make contact.
I only refer to sending a wink, once I have made contact through my Profile being seen by someone who has taken the time to view me and send a message.
On the other hand, if someone sends me a wink, I'll reciprocate and return the favour, only once I have viewed them. |

I use the wink feature on this site because it is there and as a way of showing I have an interest in the person I've winked at.
I don't do it to be lazy, however it does get a little tiresome to write a dozen messages to people who never even bother to reply, so at least a quick wink shows interest.
If I get a wink from a local lady I shall wink back and send a message too. Most of the winks I get are from guys, shame i'm not gay or i'd get loads of action |

I must admit that I find the 'lazy' or 'lacks effort' responses about winks just a tiny bit irritating given that even the most carefully worded and well thought out pm's with face pics attached and all profile criteria checked are still deleted without comment (note, tiny bit, I don't sit brooding on it! )
I'm fully aware just how many pm's the ladies and couples get and I understand why they do this, but it's one of the reasons blokes sometimes send winks instead of a pm.
Spending half an hour crafting each message only to log on to an empty inbox every day can be very disheartening when you first join.
I never wink anyone who has 'no winks' on their profile. |

i see it as thats what the feature is there for otherwise why do they have it on the site, its not lazyness on our part we are showing interest, i think there should be wen u go on someones profile if they dont like winking they should be able to stop winking like when filtering messages, stops anyone getting annoyed |

"yea i think your all right, but if you get a wink and you like them ,and you wink back, perhaps they will send a message ,as you have winked back!"
Life is too short to be pulling teeth winking! If it's a toss up between someone who takes the time to send a message and a winker - well... |
