Have a similar response as I did to the nurse who told me that after my stomach op I might never be able to drink _ed wine again - laugh uncontrollably at the ridiculous notion! |

Not ridiculous if your told that a prostate operation will leave you sterile,or impotent....still with the sex drive but able to do bugger all about it |

I'm very sorry for your situation. In the worst case, it's not the end of your sexual live:
1 Ask for a second opinion
2 If it's really the case, wait some months to evaluate the consequences and then focus on the actual capacities you'll conserve.
3 If you want to have children in the future, freeze your sperm right now
4 In case you lose your erection capacity, you'll still conserv the rest of sensations, so you can have orgasms. You could consider in the future an implant in your penis to get erections.
I'm not in your case my friend, but you're not alone and this is not the end of your sexual life. I guess you'll come back here in a few months with eager ladies knocking on your door |

Aim off for the worst case scenario?
Then anything better is a bonus ?
Like the poster previous there are things you can do to preempt the op and also things after ?
But hope it doesn't come to that and your back having fun soon |

Get as much info as you can before the operation. Find out what your options are if the worst should happen. There will be things that can help and as you'll have had an operation, you'll be likely to get the help you need.
I'm having to go through something similar but until I've found out all the information I can, I won't be making a decision.
