Oh, sure. I do it for personal satisfaction more than anything. And health reasons, but I doubt I'll ever look like a stereotypical lifter. (although the appearance does help the amusement factor when I outlift and shock the condescending bro who points out the cardio equipment and tells me to get out of the weight room ) |

I only ever do weights in the gym. I'm not a weight lifter though, it notes me so I swim and SUP and do a bit of weight training to improve my performance. |

Oh certainly. I know that well. (I was talking about whacking the girls with the equipment. Ouch!) Other things have been standing in my way until recently. But I enjoy it and do well at it anyway. |

I must say all the women in this thread are absolutely gorgeous! love a girl who lifts, should be a lot more widely advertised how much a female lifting weights makes there bodies as incredible as it does... too many people say "I don't want to look like Jodie marsh" xx |

Out of interest what type of weights do you use?
I'm a total newbie to weights and currently only use dumbbells at home, any advice would be greatly received.

Hey I use a lot of different styles of weights from freeweight dumbbells to machines can use whatever you have to hand though xx |

It's all about the deadlift and squat for the booty gains!...
I've been training for a few years and then Mrs L decides to give it a go. 8 months in and she's leg pressing 5 times her bodyweight and deadlifting 3 times... Pisses me right off
She's now thinking about competing. |

Deadlift squat and press are the only 3 exercises you need according to some |

Get her Powerlifting!!!
I compete in the 67.5kg category as a raw lifter (but I weigh 63kg) I can only deadlift 150kg. |

The total record is 297.5kg, your Mrs is only 2.5kg off that.

"I competed as a powerlifter around 15 years ago, deadlift and squat both 200kg best, bench 130kg at 84kg. I still lift but not anywhere near as heavy."
