We prefer kik as you don't have to give your number out and can do group messages still.
WhatsApp has caused issues as people can see if you're online and if you've been on and not opened or replied to their message.

"Whatssap is fine if you don't mind giving your number out, but bear in mind you will pop up as suggested friends on facebook etc
No you don't. "
Does with me.
My facebook suggestions are a rogues gallery of all the questionable pussy i had in the last 3 years. No other contact with them but Tinder or Whatsapp.
Not absolutely certain what the mechanism is for this information being shared, whether its Google skimming your phone book and pairing it up with facebook profiles from there, or whatsapp directly, but the result is the same.
May be some way of blocking it, but this is the default state of affairs. |

"Nothing wrong with fab messenger. Does the job. No immediate need for Kik/whatsapp"
yes your right I've had a morning ruined by a guy who claimed that he had set up an
MMF with a young lady in Sheffield
when I asked for her name on here he wouldn't say
and when I asked for a pic he said that he would send via WhatsApp
I told him that I don't have WhatsApp and wouldn't sign up for it
he gave me the address and I turned no one in
he has since blocked me and his phone has gone off line |

I just found out why he wanted to send pics by WhatsApp
its a con to get your phone No.
once he has this he can then hack into your WhatsApp account
so be warned only use WhatsApp with friends and if someone will only chat on WhatsApp
AVOID !!!!! |

I much prefer Skype but have kik too,
I find that being able to log out of Skype helpful, i.e. When I'm logged out I don't get nuisance message and no one can see messages if they get access to my phone!!
I know most people aren't keen on Skype because everyone thinks you want to video message, but it's excellent for normal messaging and swapping pics etc

Ive used whatsapp on a phone without a sim card (just on wifi). It asked me for a number and I entered one from an old PAYG account.
Worked fine, with no checks or confirmations that the number was valid.
Settings allow you to change the assocated number at any time. |

that seems to be the way to go
i'm going to mail all the folks that he has been in contact with just to let them know and see if they have had any problems from him |

Thats strange tried that on my iPad and it said it had sent a 6 digit code to the number I had given that I need to enter on the set up page. |

I prefer kik then I don't have to give my number out. It's easier than messaging on here, messages are instant and it saves having to log into here. It's also good for group chats. |

Don't just give out your mobile numbers straight away unless you have a little trust first. Far too many cons and idiots about wanting to spoil your day. I stick with kik or email. |

Kik
Only if I want to move off here.
I do though notice more and more guys sending a first message and immediately wanting to take it off fab...
Just sends red flags to me off pic collectors and quick fly by nights!
Annoying
But they get short shift |
