"Anyone else enjoy going for a run?
Nope , waste of energy
Helps with the stamina!
....and buggers your knees up"
As a wise man once said - I run because I really like beer.
In moderation running is good for you. |

And I tore my right acl in my knee playing 5-a-side football back in uni. Used to be very unstable with my knee 'going' every month or so....since I started running I have had no issues with it. Seems to have stabilised my knee. |

"Love running - did my first ultra this year and have a half marathon in a few weeks."
Ultras are a bit much for me happier with my 1.5 miles times just now lol |

"An ultra is any mileage over a normal marathon. I'm doing a 33 mile trail one, the old knees don't like road running these days!"
Plenty of good ultras around here. A mate of mine is an ultra runner, and has been doing 100k and 100milers. He's nuts! |

I'm just getting back into it...I'm slow but my fitness levels are improving greatly and I feel good after it
Could always do with a full body massage after though |

"On a more serious reply
I have been thinking of taking up running. Can anyone recommend a good app to help ?"
Different ones.
Strava. Map my run.
All good. I'm sure there are others. |

Depends how back to basics you want to go. If it's from the beginning c25k is fantastic. I know a lot of people who started there, me included. Can also get a c210k app etc. |

Keen runner here! I have run 2 half marathons and 3 10ks with him, but he has done a marathon, and over 10 halfs and 10ks.
Parkrun is something we always suggest to a new runner, brilliant free timed 5k every saturday morning all over the country! |

"Did a local 10k race this morning. Not my best time, but damn it was hot!
What time did you do?"
Late 50s, but my PB on concrete is 47. It's a mixed surface run today, with damn potato fields! |

Did 2 half marathons last weekend another 1 lined up for next week. Bornemouth marathon in 3 weeks, and 2 marathons before the end of the year.
Yes, I think it;s safe to say I enjoy running! |

I did it instead of a 20 mile training run for Bourneouth marathon. It was 2 very different races, flat and fast on Saturday (faster than marathon pace but not flat out) hilly trail half at slower than marathon pace on Sunday. It was very much an experiment in training but one that I think has worked |

I do. Or rather did.
Currently told not to run as I have 5 prolapsed discs - 1 of which is compressing my sciatic nerve.
The pain is worse than childbirth - Ando I've had 3 children workout pain relief.
Gutted- was due to run my first half marathon next week! |

Sounds like a great idea. Did 2 half marathons in preparation and managed 19.5 miles in training. |
