If someone recognised you out and about didn't approach you, but then messaged you later to say "hey I saw you at xyz", would you like that or find it creepy?

It would depend on the tone of the message and if they made us aware of who they were.
We've had the occasional message saying they've seen us elsewhere without telling us who they are...that's creepy and usually not true. |

My FB and I have had this happen , she has had nude pics published in readers wives....she found it a turn on knowing the guy had seen her totally naked albeit in a magazine. |

It's not that creepy. Definitely better (and more discrete) than hearing "Hey, are you on FabSwingers.com?" In Tesco. That happened to a mate of mine, which is how her husband found out she was cheating on him. If you recognise someone on here out in public, please don't say anything about this site in earshot of whoever they're with. |

I was stalked this way for over a year. We exchanged a few messages til I got freaked out when he said he recognised me off facebook because we had a friend in common. I didn't confirm it, but he went on intermittently for a year. He would message the time and place he had seen me, with 'i saw you but you didn't see me' or message the title of a place I had been and say something like 'the food was good wasn't it'.
In the end I went to the mutual vanilla friend who knows what I do, and sent her his pics (face was blurred) to see if by chance she recognised him. She did because he had sent her the same pics! Basically a sex pest who was married with kids. My friend told me his name and sent me a pic of what he looked like. We worked for same company! I replied to his latest message using his real name and asked how his wife was. He freaked out, cacked himself and kept apologising saying he had wanted to speak to me but did not know how, and begging me not to tell his wife. I didn't of course, just wanted him to stop scaring people.
In some circumstances, it might be quite hot to send a message on fab, if you're on the same train for example, and then its up to them if they want to engage. |

Personally I'd find it more appropriate to get a message, but again it's on the tone of the message!! Would be a bit freaky to walk up to someone if you didn't know them got to have some discretion |

We went to the local pub quiz and when we got home someone messaged to say he recognised us from Quest. He said he hadn't come to chat because we were with another couple. I thought that was very tactful of him and I liked the fact he had recognised us .SallyS |

If I was to be totally honest, I wouldn't give a shit because if they saw me at XYZ then they also must have been at XYZ, but either way I have more things to worry about than someone outing me for being somewhere.

I'd have no problem being recognised in public. My partner is on here with me and knows everything. Besides I'm not ashamed of me and my partner being swingers. I'm really quite proud we have that level of trust between us. |

Happens all the time! Yesterday on way to tattoo studio, in supermarket, at service station. Guys just message me to say they had spotted me. Doesn't bother me....apart from the time I was out with no make up! I blame the long purple curls! |

Hey some good responses. I guess I should add, I would send my face pic, and there is no notion of "outing" anyone! Just a playful message. I certainly wouldn't want to freak anyone out. |

Surely if you have face pictures on you profile for all to see you're opening yourself up to be recognised.....a message later from someone saying "hi I saw you in Tesco's/local pub etc" even if you feel creeped out by it is much better than them walking up to you in said places and saying "hi aren't you on fab?" to your face..... |

Agree it would be down to the tone and who it was. If it was just a 'saw you in tesco' message then that would be creepy. Something a bit more conversational and open ended, accompanied by their face pic wouldn't be so bad.

Exactly how we see it .

We wouldn't have a problem providing they didn't approach us in public and didn't send a creepy " I know where u were" message. Out face pics are friends only so chances would be slim anyway...if someone approached us in public then I would be mortified seen as 9 times out of 10 we have our babies with us |

Was with my mother in Tescos and recognized someone talked to here, could see he recognized me too.
Once got over panic he was going to approach, we shared sly smile and carried on. At checkout had warm feeling knowing he knew what I looked like naked. |

Happened a few times to us now, we'd rather be messaged than openly spoken to in the street as usually we have our kids with us..
I don't think it's creepy, I'd rather know than not know tbh, What would you rather get "I saw you in the high st today" or "I've seen you 28 times in the last fortnight"

"They'd be blocked instantly. That's creepy"
Why? They could only recognise you from here if:
(A) you have clear face pics....so anyone might recognise you.
(B) you have actually met.
What's the problem....? It's not like they "outed" you in the middle of Sainsburys! |

I've had someone threaten to "out" me in the middle of sainsburys and i fucking work there!
I got a message from a guy who spotted me at work. Didn't want to take no for an answer and made veiled threats of coming up to me at work. Reported and blocked. |

As long as they were discreet about it it wouldn't bother me, no harm in that. If they came up to me tho and blurted it out all over tesco i wouldn't be best pleased |

I don't have public face pics but I'm not that naive to discount the possibility that someone could recognise me.
Regardless of my status I'd find that creepy as fuck if someone messaged me to that affect.

I've been spotted about 10 times whilst I've been out, walking the dog, down the aisle in Asda, out in my car. The guy in Asda followed me down 2 ailes and was smiling at me and when I was walking my dog the guy was in a van and was parked up and then drove past me very slow staring at me, they all messaged saying they seen me at such and such a place |

I've had a few messages like that.
It doesn't bother me as long as they let me know who they are, with a face pic.
If they stay anonymous then I block them.
What I don't like is if men message me on POF to say they've seen me on Fab, especially if I've blocked them on here.
That's creepy |

It would depend on the tone of the message.
We've had it happen twice and both were totally different in their message approach.
One, came across really creepy and freaked us out.
The other, ended up with us meeting them and becoming friends. |

It would depend on the tone of the message. We had a message recently asking if we were at X doing Y, we were at X but wasn't us as it happens. It was a nice message, didn't find it creepy at all and I'd rather a message on here than be approached in public, especially as we were with friends. |

Other than that I'd rather someone didn't start mentioning the fact I'm on here in public. A message later on wouldn't bother me |

I think I'd find it a wee bit creepy, but it's preferable to being approached in public I suppose. I'm always getting messages saying they've seen me somewhere and it's never actually been me, so I've got a few doppelgängers knocking around. |

Neither, depending upon the context of the message and how the person sending then goes onto conducting themselves in any further messages (if any)
But essentially what happens in Fab.... you can guess the rest.. |

I was chatting to a couple on fab a few years ago next thing it turned creepy when the guy from the question asked how was so and so I told him I don't know who u mean he then came up with my sisters name so I denied knowing her then he produced my ex wife's name I again denied knowing her he then went on to describe her where she was from where she worked and so on and asked if she knew i was on here again I denied I knew the person he was on about because at the end of the day my family and ex are my business and not spend to be used against me and I want my fab life to remain separate from my normal life so in the end I closed my account and re opened it a few weeks later but it cost me my fab friends as when I reopened account I was now out of their age range |

I have not been recognised but have recognised a couple of couples but never said anything. One was a couple I knew quite well but hid their naughty side from anyone and another was a lady I worked with who was quite flirty by personality in general and so it would not surprise anyone. Would never say anything to them unless in an appropriate situation but it is very horny to see their posts and their photos and also see them in normal everyday life, especially when we go our for diner or meet them at a party. If I were to mention it I would only do it in andppropaite need very non creepy and open way so everyone would know who each other was. |
