One thing that has always confused me is the particular system of using a 'put this in subject' approach of making message stand out, as initial proof of reading profile. 8-10 have the 'codeword' at bottom of profile which is rather useless as surely when you go onto a profile and check names & ages a quick flick of the eye generally unlocks the secret words.... Would it not be more efficient to dot a few words around in profile or is there an easier system to let prospects stand out?
It isn't hard to read a profile and is often quite enjoyable specially the well written and sometimes comical ones lol. Sending a message which suits the profile is not hard however the subject can be difficult... On another not what's the most eye catching subject titles you have had? X |

My profile has gotten longer due to being asked the same question over and over. So I thought I would try and cover all bases. I don't have any code words in mine, but it does make me laugh when reference is made to the chocolate hob nobs and coffee! |

I get mails from guys saying 'you must have too much time on your hands to have written that'. What is too much time? You just have spare time to fill. I don't watch tv much so I write or draw or paint. The written word is not a chore to me.
I don't want to meet up with anyone who sees reading and writing as alien. |

Ive spotted codewords without reading the profile properly, I just skim read, so the codeword isnt that great a way of ensuring you've read the profile. Of course if they ask you questions on it then your stumped. Maybe put a series of clues, a clue to take the reader to a certain city to find the next clue taped onto a dustbin, and that clue lead you to another city or another country, eventually leading up to the big one, the codeword that goes into the title. Be like the Da Vinci code. It could work |

LOL oh my that deserved the extra time for my tired hands to put the caps lock on!(Btw if you liked that book should read 'lost symbol' by same author dan brown) I don't see long profiles as Tedious to read as long as they are informative and well written. Writing is becoming a lost art as many threads have stated, so I can appreciate and often compliment when I see profiles that catch my eye. To be fair the questioning or inquisition shouldn't be necessary as in a first mail it is often good advice to have the content suit the profile. With a few well crafted phrases aimed towards major points on a profile works wonders. Often try same approach in subject title, and works a lot better then 'hey' or 'oi oi sexaloy' :P |

People will write their profile with whatever they are comfortable with. I enjoy longer profiles if its interesting, funny and I want to learn more about that person. I wont bother reading what doesnt interest me. And if people feel happier having a coe word then its all good. And Ive read all of Dan Brown's books. |

here we go again. people expecting us poor single guys to read profiles. we have enough to do mass mailing the same email to every lady on the site you know, and thats on top of wanking over your profile pics, sending friend requests to see your private pics and posting in the forums about never getting any meets. |

Mathew reily is a great author some similar books to dan brown, slightly more action orientated but still quite a good read.
people will write as they wish and naturally ( as were on this theme) dont judge a book by its cover, ie: short profile small personality (would be ignorent to think this but somepeople on site never fail to suprise lol). i do think code words do work in certain ways as there is no foolproof way of determining if someone has read the profile by subject text |

We use a codeword - ok it's not a perfect idea but most of the mail we get using it is an actual message that indicates they read our profile.
Saying that we still get one or two that use the codeword and have totally ignored the rest of the profile - like using it's an instant pass or something. |
