I don't hate it but it's not somewhere I'd choose to go on holiday to.

Most hated?

Weird.

If it was a more stable safe world I'd love to go experience the culture. But given its proximity to so many troubled areas, probably not likely to occur for a few decades.

However don't hate the place to use a fabism rejection 'it's just not for me at the moment. '

North Korea is a pretty unfriendly place but I'm sure if the regime ever changes the people will turn out to be lovely.

Went to Turkey last year. Never again. Not one thing good I can say about it. Apart from hitting that plane and leaving.

I think this is an over interpretation of current events.

I think UK and Russia where some of the highest numbers of holiday makers that visited Turkey.

Given the recent changes both in nearby countries and the move of their government to a less liberal outlook then the drop in visitor numbers is understandable. But it does not mean we now hate the place.

Do you mean the country or the people? I know quite a few people who have been on holiday there and loved it. As for the people, all the Turkish people I know are pleasant to me.

I personally quite like Turkey having been there.

That said, I can see why it gets it's share of negativity too from the Brits.

We have friends who've had very unpleasant experiences of Turkish hospitality. There's good and bad elements, much the same as any other country around the world.

Gosport

I can't comment on most of Turkey but the Aegean coast is lovely and have spent a couple of my most relaxed weeks cruising along it on gulets. The week I stayed in one of the resorts near Marmaris did less for me but then I have never been that taken with places trying to provide a little Britain in the sun.

Not hated by me but I don't want them in the EU and they have a problem with Islamic extremism and IS sympathisers. Islam needs reforming l.

I doubt it the US would rather the Turks stay out of Syria.

Just goes to show everyone has a different _iew on world politics.

My _iew is that the Turks have gone in to make sure the kurdish forces don't have full control of the border with Turkey.

Enlightened self interest.

I've been to Turkey on holiday three times and the place and the people were lovely.

Unfortunately like a lot of places it has now got tensions which mean I won't be going back in the near future purely for safety concerns.

The whole near and middle east has been messed up since the end of 2nd world war when the big three carved the area up for the oil.

So its all the western worlds fault really.

The Garden of Eden in Beautiful North Wales

I've only ever been there once, on holiday and while it is a beautiful country, I found a lot of the people very imposing and arrogant, that seem to ignore the word 'no' to the point I was actually even a little frightened at one stage but that was a holiday destination. I did enjoy it and even got some genuine Turkish fakes! Lol But it's not somewhere I'd go back to.

It's been a mess for LONG before us. It took Israel 60 years to be more advanced than the surrounding countries manages in thousands.

Muslims should reform it. Just like Martin Luther and John Calvin recommend Christianity.

We've never been to Turkey, don't really plan to.

But certainly don't hate them, but then again they used to have an Empire, and we Brits should know a thing or two about being judged for a colonial past.

Sad to see the shift into theocracy.

Well that's unfortunate because it clashes with Western values and since we are the indigenous, they change to us, not the reverse.

We love Turkey, been over 5 times. The people are lovely.

I don't think people realise how big the country is. We were there recently (when there was terrible at Istanbul airport) we had messages asking if we were OK/had we heard anything....we were about 900km away from Istanbul.

It's a beautiful country and if people stopped going there it would be a real shame.
