we both wear a black ring on our right hand to identify us as in the lifestyle, this movement is growing fast in the USA, and is not something that vanillas would pick up on. Is this something that other couples have picked up on or that we can get going on a larger scale here? It makes approaching people less risky, even if it is just to be in a social situation where you can be yourself and talk of your experiences/preferences?
Alternatively is there some other sign or way of identifying each other that we have missed out on? And would you approach someone wearing a ring or other kind of symbol? |

No obviously not, but at meet and greets in public bars, clubs etc.
We agree you have to be sensitive to people's situatation but a ring is something you can take off if you do not want to be approached, like if you were out with family or vanilla friends.
But if you were out together on a night out alone it certainly makes it easier to understand who is around you. I'm sure we have all day in a bar and wondered if any of the people around us are the same as us?

Just sounds like one of those things that's bound to end in tears. A significant proportion of the general population have zero social skills and will blurt out what it means in front of your vanilla friends.
It'll be like dogging, cool at first when it was a niche crowd and then ruined as the great unwashed move in on the trend. |

Yeah point taken, however we like the idea, be it a bit fantasist that we as a lifestyle community will one day get the same revolution and acceptance as the LGBT community, and that we don't have to conduct our business on websites or clubs that are not acsessable to all, and considered socially unacceptable. |

We've had discussions on here about that. The LGBT community on got that acceptance by organising themselves and having representative bodies like stonewall. Half the people on this site (who are not necessarily) swingers don't see the need for this because swinging is a 'private' activity. We'd like to see it though. |

"Lots use a fish symbol on a badge or car, so you safely approach and tell them you swing "
Yes, if you want to test it, you just go up to them and ask them if they have been 'saved'? If they say yes then that's them consenting to you immediately groping them. The 'saved' refers to 'saved' from monogamy. |

There's a group of them meet up regularly near us in some kind of club house. Do you know if we should dress down before going in? |

How naive I have been, been living next door to a couple for years have fish symbol on door, also on car along with Jesus loves you signs. There's me thinking they were holy joes, all this time I could have given the secret sign knock on door and been having fun there |

It's best to wear fish net stocking if you go to their clubhouse |

"I wouldn't approach anyone in public about being a swinger. They might be with family or friends that have no idea they swing.
I wouldn't appreciate someone coming up to me in a public place. "
