I've had a few men come to my house,I'd never felt uneasy about it. Not even when my now regular partner walked in and towered over me at 6ft 8,maybe more,with muscles. No one knew he was coming;I'd only been chatting to him for an hour and a half previous. Since then I've had a couple of others visit me,all on the first time of meeting,except one of them. Unfortunately yes you do still need to be cautious. I am not aware of any specific cases where straight men have been lured into being murdered on this sort of site in the UK, however, there have definitely been at least one case in the gay community fairly recently.
If someone wanted to set up a fake profile and catfish you into a meet, if they plan it carefully you could be toast however burley and trained you are.
Everyone needs to consider the risks, albeit small for most, and act with some level of sensible caution. |

Well you can to a certain degree. You should get a general feeling from someone's profile, if they have a good number of verifications, etc.
I always do a little research (fab wise) before arranging a meet so I'm fairly confident I'm not walking into a 'situation'.
Although in the back of my mind I do wonder if I'll end up in a bath tub of ice with organs missing - all part of the excitement |

You could let someone who knows you on here when you are going to have a meet, then let them know when you are finished at the meet. If they are a good friend they won't care about the details, just who you are meeting and where you are meeting them. It isn't the best idea but better than nothing. |
