I haven't seen the previous thread (not been on the forums today), but I find even I get a bit cynical at times.

I think the one that makes me raise an eye brow are the profiles come on the site, start with "not sure what looking for.. please don't rush me to meet" or words to that effect... then a few short months later "found what am looking for, now part of a couple, not looking to meet" .. or words to that effect.

I see those and think "Its Fabswingers ... not Match.com"

I'm cynical in real life and extremely suspicious of people and their motivations. It would be weird if I wasn't similarly cynical and suspicious on here. I can't be arsed with giving people the benefit of the doubt.

I usually takes things as they come, but sometimes there are too many things that don't add up that makes me seriously doubt some people, I suppose its because I've been at the receiving end too many times now, I just don't take everything everyone says as the truth anymore.

cynical or cautious?

I've always been suspicious of people, and being on here has made me 10 times worse...

'if it looks too good to be true, it usually is' is my mantra..

We're both extremely cynical in real life, but on here we're a bit more open minded. We've found that treating every person we get in contact with as a potential fake/timewaster is counter productive.

A combination of optimism and realism. Be friendly but don't get our hopes up and don't compromise ourselves.

Ditto. 7bn people in the world, why bother giving people the benefit of the doubt. Block and move on.

I have been described as cynical but in reality I just have an excellent bull shit detector.

I have formed a very realistic _iew of the behaviours of people on here. My gut is usually correct.

I am by nature a very happy person and I live my life to the positive. Swinging is reeked with superficiality and the exploitation of people, both genders.

Be the player, not the played.

... where the streets have no name!

I do try and give people the benefit of the doubt on here - but sometimes the ignorant behaviour of others does make you wonder.

No im not really cynical but im not stupid

If something doesnt seem right then thats it. Bit annoyed for not making a quick enough judgement call on something on here But it only led to slight annoyance so no harm done

I was probably too naive when I joined this site....I've never really experienced fake people in my real life and thought of you were nice and genuine people would be the same back....in here it's not always the case x

I think I'm more of a realist than a cynic. I don't actively seek the bad out in people but I've learnt to tread carefully with the people that look too good to be true.

This.

However I understand the underlying cynicism on here. It wasn't that long ago that kids used to play out in the woods and fields with little concern. Now its a rare sight, and some of that is due to so much media coverage from everywhere that we assume all the bad things happen in our own neighbourhood. There is a lot of disproportionate thinking even here on fab as we hear of everyone else's bad and negative experiences. We rarely hear of all the good ones as often it's seen as boasting. The BBC say 'for every one negative _iewers comment they get there are 100 positive ones not sent in'. We need to hear alot more of the positive meets that go on every day and every night here on fab.

Swinging is just for the moment for us .

We don't look for anything more than the buzz of a meet .

We make this very clear , and it works for us . So no time at all for cynicism or negativity in this lifestyle
