OK ladies have any of you ever been stood up like I was this morning ? No message, nothing 
Three weeks of naughty and normal chat and it was him pushing for the meet.
We were even online together till 2am last night talking about today's meet ! Uuurgh
So what's your thoughts.... has this been a fake profile and pics all along (He has been on a year and verified) or did he just not have the guts to meet ? |

Sorry to hear this op,
On my old single profile i was stood up ,i think he did it out of spite as i had to rearrange once when,my dad was ill.
I can't say why he did it,but it sadly happens on here.
Please report to admin and don't let it put you off.

You'll have to ask him why, but i reckon he won't answer you anyway so you'll never know.
Yeah i had the same recently and had met the guy and he was still into me until 2 days before our next planned meet.
I've just put it down to he was full of shit and doesn't actually give a fuck about me. |

The study found you were 5 times more likely to be stood up for a meet and fuck meet than you were for a meet for a coffee or drink meet.
So the answer to not being stood up seems to be to keep things low key no expectation after all things can always progress from there . |

I read a study somewhere that asked a hundred sex site users about being stood up .
The study found you were 5 times more likely to be stood up for a meet and fuck meet than you were for a meet for a coffee or drink meet.
So the answer to not being stood up seems to be to keep things low key no expectation after all things can always progress from there ."

Sometimes, just sometimes, things happen in people's lives that come way above their sex life.
It's possible that a family illness or something similar happened and cancelling the meet was the last thing on his mind.

I was on Tuesday morning! We spoke for a couple of weeks via Internet and phone, he has verifications so never doubted him not turning up.
Spoke at 10am he was getting the train at 12 arriving at my home town for 1-30ish.
Then the next news I got a text at 1pm saying I've fallen asleep I'm about to get in the cold bath I run earlier!
Really? Haha so I said don't bother I've made other plans

Guy was supposed to come to mine I bought sticky chicken skewers, garlic mushrooms in breadcrumbs, wedges, even got him one of those woo woo frozen cocktails actually that's still in my freezer! Time came and went for him to show up, no message, nothing just a very hungover apology half way through the next day. I did meet him the following week and didn't fancy him in the flesh anyway so I got upset for nothing. Hate the feeling of being stood up, makes me feel anxious and horrible. |

Don't take it personally, lots of fakes online, very easy to muck people around if they have no intention of meeting. We had a meet arranged, as soon as I said we had booked (and paid for a hotel) he couldn't make it due to a broken leg!! Hmmmmm |

I had that once and then I got a message from his girlfriend (of five years; yes she made a point of that) a week later.
I simply replied 'oh hello (name)'s girlfriend I didn't know you would be joining us' to which I got no reply  |

The worst is when they message you a few weeks later as though nothing happened! Deny all knowledge of ever arranging a meet. These are the ones that are just in it for the chase I would say. Once they have you hooked and have arranged the meet they get bored |

Never been stop up, I have a sixth sense about these things. I have even rung up hotels in two occasions, where the guy has claimed to book - lies!
Also, confirmation in the morning of the meets tends to rule out those who won't turn up, ie they don't confirm. So my six years at Fab is not yet marred  |

I've had this, all talk then quiet like they had dropped off the earth.
At the time I was gutted, angry and felt vulnerable- was it me?
Got a message a few days later explaining why etc.
Now- I feel glad he didn't turn up and I'm back to loving fab for the splendid people, not the few dicks who blindside us. |

It happened to me last week, a guy who'd been asking to meet for weeks, and we'd been messaging up to 2 hours before he was due to turn up. And then nothing, silence. I messaged him the next day asking for an explanation, and got an unconvincing reply about a family emergency. No apology or friendliness.
I figured he either just bottled it, or was cheating on someone and grew a conscience. Either way, I don't do second chances. If he'd messaged to let me know, or apologised because of a genuine reason, then fair enough. I wouldn't stand someone up in real life so I wouldn't do it to someone off here either. |

When I was a single girl on here I got stood up too. Made my way to a local pub. Sat and waited. Had a drink. Left. Text the guy. No answer. Then he told me 'family came round and he couldn't get away' Next day he had a new veri from a couple. A couple who I later found out gave him warts. Lol. Karma is a bitch, bitch! But we have been stood up. We had 15 meets over a month cancel or not turn up. It's sucks. Miss C. Xx |

We've only been stood up once, we'd chatted to a couple for a few days, they looked great on their pics, too good really. We said at the time they look too good to be true and we suspected they were fakes, but thought we'd go to the pub as arranged anyway.
If they turned up then bonus, if not we'd have a drink then back home to make our own fun.
Of course they didn't turn up, and ignored our messages on fab. We tried the phone number they gave and it was a man who denied all knowledge!!
It's probably not as bad for couples, disappointing but we can still enjoy our "meet" together |

I find this post and the responses fascinating you see in 8 years I've never once been stood up .
I've had people cancel the day before even on the morning of a arranged meet but in every case they had a valid reason and have always offered me a alternative meeting day .
Am I just lucky 8 years of luck seems a bit much if you asked me maybe its the fact I don't ask for a meet until I'm sure I want to meet and just as important that I'm sure they want to meet me. |
