Sadly, I met a guy in real life, who had been doing this for years. Little did I realise that far from being the prince charming he said he was, he was a violent abuser, a liar and a cheat. He left me with an injunction for him not to come near me for life and £60k poorer, plus all the times I had bailed him and his no-hope family out. But we live and learn!
