We have nothing against them thanks to the bulk delete option

It's nice knowing that some people appreciate our effort on our profile but they won't be hearing from us.

....a wink from a friend gets a wink back... they've made an effort in the past

We love a wink! Giving and receiving. Winkers we like go in our " people to be contacted soon" pot and see if it leads anywhere.

In a crisp poke on the A814

Dont see point in them.....why not just send mail?????

If a guy winked me in street I would ignore him, if he spoke to me...I would be polite and answer back....of course, that would depend on what he said!!!!! lol

I dont mind getting them, though giving a wink out i can see as being more easily ignored than a message.

Normally just keep them for friends now.

Winks?! They should be banned for ambiguity! I hate them, they mean different things to different people, so I have no idea how to respond to them.

Am I supposed to wink back, does the sender expect me to reply with a message?

And if I don't, will they assume I don't like them or think they're not worth a reply?

And conversely, from my perspective, should I just think THEY are too lazy to send ME an actual message?

Grrrrrr!

I'm a shameless winker. I sometimes send them a day or two before a message, sometimes I send them because I just like a profile.

I just sent a few based on this thread alone!

One of our best series of meets started with the other couple winking us. We don't mind them, they're inoffensive and easily ignored if you don't want to take things any further.

I don't mind winks at all.

I'm certainly concerned about the mental stability of someone who could get annoyed by one lol.

Sometimes I actually communicate in winks, it's kind of a form of morse code.

I ignore them. I was on another site that you could customise your account. As I didn't like winks anyone winking would be sent an automatic message along the lines, "although nice to receive winks, it wont be responded too, why not send a message instead if you're interested".

Nine times out of 10 they wouldn't follow it up - too flipping lazy in my opinion, but at least no time was wasted...on my part.

Now that is disgusting, and on a public forum too

Cos if they can't be bothered to send a message i can't be bothered to open my winks.

If ppl like my pics, fab, they don't need to tell me tho,if ppl want to meet then take the time to mail us.

i would disable winks if i could.

"Winks are great, just a little wolf whistle to gauge interest "

Anyone who wolf whistled me would get a lecture on male entitement from a feminist perspective.

Another reason to dislike winks then.

some cpls have this on their profile too (whats wrong with a wink) if we see this we wouldnt wink or write to them,

its nice to see there are real people out there that like to start off slowly and discretely with a wink.
