profile not available

I'm not going to go on and on about this but what's the point of being on a swinging site if your profile isn't available? Are they just picture hunters,trolls or just psudo swingers? There should be a way of blocking our profiles from such voyeurs!
Can anyone shed light on why someone would have a hidden profile? |

Because I'm taking a temporary break from meeting and I don't want to be appearing in searches, getting messages or having anyone look at my profile only to find I'm not meeting at the moment.
Is that ok with you? |

Huge amount of assumptions going on there op. People can and do hide their profiles for many reasons and essentially it's there's to do with as they wish  |

I could counter argue and say because you've got no public face pics that you're also the above mentioned, but that would be ridiculous right?
See what I'm getting at? Just because a profiles hidden, it could be for a number of perfectly acceptable reasons, in the same way you have no public face pics  |

We've deleted a profile and regretted it. Wish we'd just hidden it rather than losing our awesome profile name and verifications.

Mine is hidden at the moment.
It's the school holidays and I can't meet. I do it because I don't want to waste anyone's time!!!
Plus I'm sick of all the inane messages!!!
I stay on the site to chat with friends and come on the forums. |

There will be lots hidden at the moment as its summer holiday season. I hide my profile from time to time when I want a time out, I hid in the days after Swingfields when it was all rather media bonkers, I've hidden it before when I've been away. Lots of reasons, none of them sinister or voyeuristic. |

People have many reasons to hide a profile. Often they are taking a break from actively meeting?
Perhaps due to being ill? On holiday or busy....but anticipate coming back to swinging.
Or they might have a few regular meets lined up and not want the hassle of an inbox full of hopefuls.
Plenty of reasons. |

Maybe if someone has a "Profile not available" because they are legitamatly "not looking" then their facility to look at others should be removed.
After all most say "Just keeping in touch with friends" etc.
So you don't need the facility to search & ogle profiles do you?

This is what would happen if you didn't have the option of hiding profile..........everyone needs time out sometimes, we all have other things going on on our lives.

To have a break I've been on here two years and not wanted to meet consistently during that time. Sometimes like at the moment I have over 700 messages,so have enough to look at without receiving more |

My profile is hidden.
I am neither a picture hunters,trolls or just psudo swingers!
It is hidden because I'm not meeting at the minute, not that it is any of your fucking business!!
I've been on here for 6 years, I've met 100s of people. I use the tools available on this site and one of those is the ability to hide my profile.
Maybe, just maybe others are doing the same. And if you don't want others looking at your pics, then don't put them up. The choice is yours. |

I do understand the OP's point.When you check who has viewed yr profile,it is frustrating to find profile hidden.
I usually message them and sometimes they had forgot or don't realise and on occasions they have allowed me to view for 5 mins before hiding again |

I hide mine sometimes for various reasons, im not meeting, im too busy, cant be bothered with random messages when i log back on, or im feeling down and down want to chat but enjoy noseying in the forums |

Written word can be taken different ways, without the addition of expressions it's hard to work out someone's intent.

It wasn't asked in any 'snarky way' as far as I can read. Maybe some people read things differently
Anyway, to the OP. I sometimes hide my profile for a few weeks if I am not in the mood or something else is happening in my life which means that I don't have the time to meet or to reply to messages |

Pretty much somes it up!!
If it were just a question about hidden profiles, fair enough. But to go on to say these people shouldn't be able to do this or that and name calling isn't good.
The tools on this site are there to use as you see fit.
If your going to put up a profile on a public site then you have got to expect that people are gonna look at it!! Silly to expect anything else.
If you don't like it block everyone who is hidden. Or maybe blocking people shouldn't be possible either? Maybe people who block should be banned?
Did you know op that people on here set their age limit very high so they can't be contacted but can contact you? shock horror!!! |

I chose to have mine hidden presently, as I'm not meeting at the moment, because I'm focusing on my education and don't want to waste anyone's time. |

I didnt look at it like that! Am i getting too suspicious of people because of the many fake profiles and wanna be's? Of. Ourse it makes perfe t sense really. We've taken a break recently from meeting as my parents are very ill, wejust stopped going onn fab. i didn't think of using the facility and found myself having to repeat that were not meeting when we did have a peek. |

lots of angry swingers mind! Which is great that they out themselves. Thanks to those that elequently explained why they hide their profiles from time to time and thanks to the angry pitch fork mob, youre much easier to spot and avoid  |

Yep that's why I hide mine, I make it available if I'm on the forums but otherwise I hide it if I'm not meeting as its pointless |

I agree if there are taking a break then the persons profile should stay active but say holiday and they should be a option to turn of function for hidden profiles to view you. |

ok i deserve a bit of patronising but in doing so you are no less guilty than me! I was being 1 sided yes and "assuming" that people had something to hide (which they have) i just thought it for more devious reasons than what has been made (and should have been to me) blindingly obvious! Appologies for offending and a little name calling but thats just added flavour and wasnt meant to cause hurt.
