Anyone had the experience of being blocked just when you tell them you are looking for something specific?
Had this happen a couple of minutes ago, nice guy, seemingly, told him we were looking for orally bi guys, he replied he was straight, no problem there. I went to reply with a thanks and have fun, and he had blocked us!
We do use the block system, but generally for timewasters and abusive guys. Found it funny that we were blocked for just stating what is written in our profile!

Some people use block to avoid contacting people again by accident.
I have been blocked by a few people who I had a friendly introductory chat with, then they said a very polite no thanks and then block.
It's just their way of keeping track of people on here I guess. |

It's down to personal choice, for example I block bi men and most of the single women on here, it's nothing personal just my preference. I have been blocked loads of times after sending an initial email, you will get used to it |

The blocks are there for a reason, and people can use them for whatever reason they like. I am guessing we have all been blocked before now so no one is immune to it.
It seems to bother some people that they have been blocked, and I am not sure why, as I am guessing it wouldn't bother that person to block others if they wanted to. |

Not worked up about it, just wondering. Like I said, we use the blocking system ourselves.
Just goes to show though that people don't read others profiles!!

I block people when they delete my message without replying, to make sure I do not contact them again.
As to why people take it personally, I think it is because the assumption is you have been blocked because the blocker actively dislikes you!
At the risk of making the website more complicated and liable to crash, I think a Do Not Disturb label would be useful. It would stop you messaging again but they could contact you if they wanted. |

I only use block if someone is rude or when I have said politely 'thanks but no thanks' and then two months down the line they send me another message saying 'hi, let me introduce myself' because they've forgotten they've messaged me before.

Like other posters, we have used the block function to avoid contacting people again who we have had some interaction with but one side or t'other has decided we're not compatible.
We don't generally automatically block anyone otherwise, single guys etc, as we still like to be able to receive messages, from the forum for example.
And we have blocked people who pestered us after we said no, but that's only been an occasional occurrence.
We have no idea if we're blocked by anyone, (people who don't like bi guys for example) and frankly, don't much care. We certainly intend no offence if we block, and take none ourselves. |

I like the sense of power it gives me.
It's a bit like commanding people to be silent with my mind which I try to do a lot in the real world to no avail, but I am working on it.
I'm currently trying an angry stare and whooshing movement with both hands like there are beams of silence firing from my finger tips. It sort of works, not many people speak to me when I do it to them.
Remember folks with great power comes great responsibility. |

Thank you you two but what you failed to say was you're my care workers and it's actually your job to monitor my posts, in case I relapse... |

"i got blocked last night for sending a "hi, how are you" message....."
Personally, I don't like those messages as they lack imagination to me and seldom lead anywhere...so I can understand the blocking. |
