Weird conversation with a friend.

For me it's an innate personality trait. As someone gets older they can learn new tricks but the delivery can't be learned. I'm not submissive to a man because he's my elder,it's because he's my superior. That's just how it works for me. |

Firstly its about gaining trust and it can transpire through a conversataion or during sex and many other scenarios.
Im far from an expert but have had amazing experiences with submissive firends and have had no complaints about being a psuedo kind of pretend dom......but its not all im looking for as i have my mild kinks to look forward to.  |

That is definitely a factor but the man has to have an innate dominant personality or it comes across as acting or role play. Turning up with a bag of huge toys to inflict as much pain as he can is not my idea of a Dom. It's just him enjoying torture. |

Couldn't agree more here with that. Personally I am not a natural Dominant. But my Dominance s out artwork when it needs to if regarding safety etc. As for kink I'm not a fan of the whole domly dom of domliness stuff of shouting orders etc, if it's separate to pinning a girl down and having them submit to me then I like my air of expression that tells them they have been naughty or whispering into their ears what I'm going to do as I hold their arms behind them, but like others have said some Dogs work for some but not others, it's how you both connect in D/s relationship or play. |

I don't think there is a set formula. It's going to be different for each individual but I can see her reasoning. It's not many younger guys that have the experience to be Dominant in its fullest term. Sure they can hv the instincts but do they have the learned aspects or the life experience.
But then a younger submissive may very well be happy to learn along with a younger Dominant. That's where we started, young and looking to learn...
