We were let down at late notice by a guy yesterday (agreed to meet then went UNLOS  ) so mailed someone else off here who stepped in at very short notice. So it does happen, but as others say, take the rough with the smooth, a healthy dose of scepticism about people very keen to meet is starting to help us. |

Contrary to popular belief, there are a lot of genuine people on the site. You just have to refine your search criteria and tune into the red flags.
Just look between the lines and see who is actually serious on the scene by their verifications, experience and how they look for what they want. I think it's a shame that the OP has decided not to meet anymore cos of a few bad apples. What's the point of being here if you don't want to meet anymore. |

Sorry to hear that OP as I can imagine how frustrating it must be - but if it's happening frequently rather than on an exceptional basis then maybe your QC / filtering process needs to be better?
I can understand the odd one here or there letting you down but nobody has ever cancelled when I've met people so if it's a regular thing then are you happy you've done all you can to validate they're the 'real deal' before agreeing to meet? |

We are lucky, we have had many many meets and only 2 no shows......always pick verified folk and speak on phone that day m x |

I think there is a minority that get alot of meets and a very big majority that dont get any meets . I have been on here for a number of years and only had one meet that didn't go well at all . So im not going to bother renewing my membership . Waist of time for single guys . Had more fun off my facebook account. |

Been stood up a couple of times. Feels horrible, just sitting in a pub on your own, waiting for someone that doesn't show up as the excitement slowly turns to depression, then boredom.

I've not been stood up... I've had cancellations, I've had to cancel real world stuff happens its never been a last minute thing though.,
If it's happening a lot to you Op .. the common denominator is your selection process / choices ..  |

There are plenty of genuine people, they get verified. Just the ones that aren't tend to cause angst in the forums. 
It has been said before, perhaps it should be a prerequisite to have a wank before arranging a meet.  |

Could meet , but it was just the ego boost they wanted, when meets are arranged they go offline or don't reply. Even when I arrange a meet now I don't expect it to happen |

Genuine here, if we do agree to a social or meet we will be there! We haven't had anyone cancel or not turn up, I'm hopefully that this will continue as our time is very limited.

I'm a genuine single guy and would definitely turn up for a meet if it was arranged. I would only cancel if it was a genuine emergency.
However I don't find myself in that situation as I've had very little luck on here, but at least I've been verified thanks to my play sessions in the club I go to; it could be worse I suppose! |

Going to clubs is far easier, then if they don't turn up you've not wasted your time getting ready and getting excited about what may or may not happen later as there will be other people there |

Sorry deleted the last post because of the predictive text.
Genuine one here too and I do turn up. I have been lucky and not had any no shows. I have only had cancellations from those I have previously met. Those meets were rearranged. |
