If so..why aren't the police cracking down on it more?

I think someone has to complain about it for it to be an offence?

So if you're discreet it's unlikely you'll get caught, therefore no-one will complain.

"If so..why aren't the police cracking down on it more?"

Outraging public decency is an indictable criminal offence.

I love that word 'outraging'

Never participated in the dogging scene though

I think only The British can be outraged. It's one of the language's more colourful words.

Doggin has been going on for years and years and was a great little discretional thing between consenting adults that was not really known about outside of the swinging fraternity etc etc. Sadly the thing with celebrity ex footballer Stan Collimore did not help when he was recognised on a doggin site a good few years ago now and photographed by some gobshite who clearly saw an opportunity to make a quick few quid off the news papers, after that it was plastered all over the national news and then more and more people , mainly idiots came out of the woodwork and wanted to have a go at it....... Car parks then kind of became abit like this site most of the time were as soon as a couple showed up on any known car park they would have 6, or 8 blokes stood straight by the passenger window before they had even put the hand brake on let alone taken there seat belts off and sussed the place out to even decide if they wanted to play or not...... The scene suffered for a while as it was in to much of the spot light and most people decided to start going to clubs and that instead.

There is still the odd bit of a scene from time to time after hours in the dark but again it is now to wide known public knowledge and you drive onto any known doggin spot at night time these days and will just see tons and tons of single blokes sat in cars waiting to PESTER the hell out of any couple who may decide to drive onto the car park and have to put up with idiots ( not all but most of the blokes are these days )

The trouble is tho ( and I may get abit of stick for this but it is my own opinion which I am entitled to ) is that these very same well known doggin spot car parks are also very very popular in the day times with gay men who call them cruisein car parks and they like to get it on with other men in the bushes or woods etc etc. Each to there own I say and fair play to them but the trouble with most ( NOT ALL ) of these men that do that in the day time is that they have little or no discretion at all and don't care half of the time who sees them or knows what they are doing....... The trouble with that is that these areas are also very very popular with tourists during the day time who god forbid should even think of going out for a walk with there family and the pet dog etc etc so it is normally the ordinary day time vanilla folk who are so shocked with what they see that they ring the police and report it........ The police receive so many reports and then have to be seen to be acting on that and putting out patrols to try and put a stop to this kind of behaviour. The only trouble with that is they DO NOT do there patrols and aggressive dispersal techniques during day light hours when the reports have been made, and they instead go out at night times and hassle all the doggers....... SO the doggin scene is pretty much dead these days and very very few n far between. I have not been out for a while now for that very reason but it used to be a great scene both for watching and joining in when invited to play SAFE

No dogging is not illegal. But if you decide to have sex in a public place there are plenty of other laws you could fall foul of.

Sitting in a car park waiting to see who shows up is perfectly legal, but don't be surprised if the police pull in and ask you what you are up to!

"No..... unless someone makes a complaint or you are somewhere stupid like a school playground."

In fact, there is no need for anyone to be outraged. Weird but true.

In reality, however, unless complaints are made, it is unlikely that the police would know about it. Their usual response in any event is just to take the names of those at the scene and to write to any spouses.

Its legal if everyone consents and no one who doesn't want an eyeful of giblets can see and you don't scare the rabbits or locals waving the last chicken in the shop at passers by

You don't have to move on if asked/told, you don't have to explain why you are there. (if you have the bollocks to refuse) This of course would probably invoke some stop and seach clause in the coppers text book. Hobsons choice!

You can of course explain why you are there and that its a perfectly legal pursuit and you will move on as soon as you have finished your private wank. (which is also legal as long as .....see previous) You'll need much bigger bollocks for this one.

Just take the obvious steps to keep it discreet. Never assume someone wants to be watched or they dont mind a pecker slapped on their windscreen half way through a good titting up,

Keep your wits about you for safety and legal reasons and you should be perfectly ok.

You are wrong.

The Sexual Offences Act 2003 introduced the offence of indecent exposure. To an extent, you are right in that this requires a witness of the act to have been offended. Unlikely in a dogging scenario unless an unsuspecting member of the public stumbles across the scene.

The wider offence of outraging public decency is still there. That does not require anyone to have actually been offended.

And I expect if you were happened upon by the police they could well claim to be outraged?!

We've been dogging for over 5 years , and had loads of conversations with the police at various sites .

Fact is that as long as you don't do anything to upset anyone who doesn't want to see what you're doing , you can't be done for it .

So , if like us you are careful and respectful of common decency , it's not illegal .

The police are very unlikely to put themselves up as witnesses to being outraged members of the public . If they see you in action , they may warn you , but it's doubtful they would want the hassle of all the paperwork etc...

And let's face it , they've got better things to do haven't they ?
