So many ladies profiles, rightly so, request an original and individual message as an approach with something of interest and often specify types of pictures preferred.
And yet the ladies receive so many messages those tailored approaches often sit unread. For some this is frustrating and can lead to a lack lustre effort on future approaches.
I guess you just have to play the numbers game? |

Thats how we approach it.
Absolutely no point in expending significant effort in a fully tailored first message given that aroun 80% will be unread and most of the remaining 20% will be recieved by a timewaster or a fake profile.
Frankly its egotism on the part of the people demanding it. Egotism they get away with because of their relatively higher position of privilege in this sphere. They expect others to invest their time before they are prepared to invest theirs.
Personally, we send a nice polite little message, relatively generic. If we get a reply then we know we pass their physical threshold. And then by all means we will put significant effort into being charming and flexible and respectful and all of that. But why the hell should anyone go all out for someone who they havent even spoken to. If that costs us a few meets, well thats how the cookie crumbles. |

We send a brief polite first message and if they like the message and profile then we get a response if not then it's fair enough, we got a bit fed up of spending ages and ages on a message for it to be deleted and we wouldn't dream of copy and pasting. So we put more on our profile as most people look at that first anyway. So far it's worked for us |

Some common thought emerging. I even had fab friends, one who I'd met, that didn't read messages I sent them, not deleted when bulk deleting, still unread 3 weeks later. Not friends anymore! |

I don#'t demand anything, but if someone has made no effort with me then i'm not interested.
That goes for copy and paste messages, hi, x, people trying to order like a service, i want *whatever* can you provide it for me.
Am honestly tempted to shove on my profile "if you're asking for a service offer me fucking money you ignorant, misogynist fucks". |

lol maybe. i do get a fair amount of decent messages as well but usually they haven't even read my profile and want something other than i do, which leads me to think they copy and pasted.
having a list of demands pretty much is pointless. you should just ask for what you want, show what you have to offer, and not give anyone clues about how to get round your compatibility filters in place - if you keep them to yourself then you're less likely to have manipulative people to get you to message back and i feel that's the key to the best meets is finding truly compatible people. |
