Knew you where on Fab, would you lose your job,and if so why, don't have to go into detail obviously.

As I am currently self employed it has not been applicable,

however I am starting a new job in August and that is PAYE so no longer self employed.

But I don't think if they new about Fab I would lose my job.

thanks

What would it have to do with your job anyway? If they sacked you over being a member of a club they'd be on more than just dodgy ground.

If you were a bloke or woman at work and were known for shagging round it would not and should not lose you your job, unless your shagging hobby affected your work. Example, if you worked as a buyer for a company and were shagging a salesperson you were dealing with, even then it's not straightforward.

In short, it's got bugger all to do with your job or your boss. If he/she found out and questioned you about it they would already have over stepped the line and any boss in the know would realise that.

believe it or not, it would be more dicey for your employer than for you as to them losing their job, (or facing a claim for unfair dismissal) not you losing yours!

I found a colleague of mine here and we work in a large institution. Keep it on the DL.

You Dont Need to Know, right now

I work in hospitality, on a zero hours contract, and I'm not going to take the risk. If word got round that the hotel I work at employs swingers, I don't think it would be good for its reputation. Not everyone is as open-minded as we are. And since I have no security of employment, it wouldn't be a case of being dismissed - my boss could simply vastly reduce my hours, and I would have no recourse.

While employers might not be able to sack you for being a swinger your position can be made untenable. Say for instance you're a primary school teacher, a well meaning parent spots your profile, shows pictures to the governors and other parents refuse to have their children taught by a pervert...similar things have happened.

Depends on the job to be honest. Public employees such as teachers and NHS staff have to be careful of their out of hours activities.

Seems naive to think that it could not thought well of in some professions. Judges, police for a start, any one very in the public eye would have to be aware it could be detrimental.

Hey,

I'd keep your mouth firmly shut, and limit the information available.

My company check facebook and the such to make sure we are not affiliated to protest groups and the like. Just saying ten minutes of a online safety check.. could save ten minutes in the que at the job centre.

When I see profiles mention they are 'professionals', I assume they would not want their involvement here to become a talking point at their workplace.

I'm self employed, but deal with a customer base. I wouldn't want to have to argue about my reply to certain threads on this forum.

A difficult one and whilst legally an employer may not be able to take any direct action if they found out, as others have pointed out in some situations/roles there may be a case if things became publically known about your preferences along the lines of "bringing the company name into disrepute" but even then it'd surely be a hard case to prove.

Only other area would be if you used company tools (e.g. laptop/PC) to access sites that contravene company internet useage policy, or it was found you were pursuing your interest on the company's time.

Legally I'd have no problems, as I'm sure the vast majority wouldn't. Very select positions may have issue but generally it's hard to call it as a sackable offence.

You have face pics in your public profile, so if you are worried about the new place, maybe put them in private?
