Anyway, now you know how rude they are, not likely you'll meet them is it?

Blocking is not rude. They are just using a site tool as they do not want their or your time to be wasted. Think of it as a polite way of your time and effort not being wasted further.

Polite no thanks isn't easier? Site tool can understand but when you just being polite and civil to someone then get blocked makes you feel like you been an abusive twat.

They don't want to talk to you so made it so they don't have to. It's jot rude it's the way they use the site. Some people are here to be social others are here to fuck and only interact with those they want to fuck.

I sometimes block when people won't stop messaging. I politely decline and wish them luck etc, but then they keep messaging. How many people have you met? what type you looking for then? what do you do for a job?

Why would they respond "no thanks" to being wished good luck on a house move though?

If they said that you'd reply to tell them you hadn't asked for anything.

If you expected a no thanks in response you obviously weren't just being nice and wishing them good luck, were you?

Perhaps they saw through that.

Either way, they didn't want to chat. If they're moving house they are probably quite busy and stressed.

I am not in the least offended. That is exactly what the block tool is for. It is not to offend someone. It is just to cease contact with someone you know you won't get on with.

I wasn't talking about me I was talking generally about people being blocked by people with whom they wouldn't be compatible.

As View has been known to say, however, sometimes being blocked is a blessing.

Blocking people removes them from search results and (if they are local) means their updates don't show in the local updates feed. It's a useful tool, not some sort of weapon or punishment.

You're going to have to get past the idea the block button is a weapon or a punishment or you will find your time on here stressful and less fun than it could be.

But it's up to you to use the site as you wish, the same as everyone else.

Did you read their profile as it may have said that they didn't want contact from single men and then albeit your message was polite the blocker may have just seen it was another man mailing. To be fair there are an awful lot of guys who contact out there "Chancing" when profile state that "we will contact you " etc. Do you really hope there move goes well or are you physically attracted to the female or couple and it was worth a try? ?? It's easier for some people to block than say they don't wish to carry on talking. Some people don't respond nicely to being told that,so people make excuses and block.

Well that was hardly rude of them then was it?

They said they weren't interested. The conversation was over. They weren't interested in chatting with you again. They blocked you so they wouldn't and so you wouldn't come up in their search results.

That's not, as you claimed, being blocked for wishing them good luck with their house move.

They'd already said no though. Saying they were too busy moving might even have been trying to be kind and let him down gently.

He followed it up with shame and best wishes.

He clearly wanted to continue it or he wouldn't have found he was blocked.

It can seem rude at first but you will get used to it, I have blocked all the people I find unattractive and those who talk Rubbish on here,

And I can't imagine for one second they are bothered.

It's a tool to filter out people who you aren't interested in. The chances are they wouldn't be interested in you either. Everybody wins.

If your not bothered why have you gone to the trouble of saying 'your not bothered' ?

I wasn't talking about me I was talking generally about people being blocked by people with whom they wouldn't be compatible.

As View has been known to say, however, sometimes being blocked is a blessing.

Blocking people removes them from search results and (if they are local) means their updates don't show in the local updates feed. It's a useful tool, not some sort of weapon or punishment.

Am I bothered

Why on earth would you be bothered?

That was a statement , not a question, btw do you know next weekends lottery numbers??

Well it's worded like a question.

If you mean you're not bothered then, to invoke your own logic, if you aren't bothered, why bother to tell us.

Tbh I think if you block someone they shouldn't be allowed to comment on my forum posts "

Awww shame

Did you read their profile as it may have said that they didn't want contact from single men and then albeit your message was polite the blocker may have just seen it was another man mailing. To be fair there are an awful lot of guys who contact out there "Chancing" when profile state that "we will contact you " etc. Do you really hope there move goes well or are you physically attracted to the female or couple and it was worth a try? ?? Lol ??????"

They were cuckold couple looking for one off discreet meets. I'm in the area for work so said hello. They said were busy moving. So I said shame but good luck with the move. Clicked back after it had been read and was blocked

"I sometimes block when people won't stop messaging. I politely decline and wish them luck etc, but then they keep messaging. How many people have you met? what type you looking for then? what do you do for a job?

Not suggesting this was you OP, just an example

See that I totally understand

I'm always polite to people just some just don't take the hint and carry on messaging. Blocking is just easier sometimes. "

You need to disagree with the OP and tell him blocking is just a site tool and not to take it personally.

He only wants people agreeing it was awful he was blocked and very unfair.

"Wow this childish guy quite enjoying block self righteous people.

Or people who disagree with you. Or people who realise you weren't just being nice and wishing them well.

See now your a mind reader. You don't know me. I was being nice but you have made a snap judgement call which is so far off the truth

So why did you think a no thanks would be warranted if you didn't want more than to simply wish them well?

I get a fair few messages like this and I know from experience what happens if I reply thanking them for the message.

And, as I said, if they had said no thanks you'd just claim you were only being nice and didn't ask anything.

The couple I spoke to today didn't have to say no thanks as I asked polite question they said busy moving I said shame but good luck with the move. When clicked back I was blocked. No thanks was directed at other times when just saying hello has judgemental people blocking you

It's easier for some people to block than say they don't wish to carry on talking. Some people don't respond nicely to being told that,so people make excuses and block. "

some people also forget that you have told them that and it gets ever so tiresome to have to keep telling them that when they message you again and again.

some people dont want small talk on here and so if someone comes back at them after saying no, no matter how polite i can totally understand them blocking rather than having to endure small talk until they eventually ask for a meet again (happened to me several times)

Sure he is

He says above why he's blocking

He's still seeing it as a weapon and a punishment.

It doesn't matter why he blocks. Mutual interest isn't there so a meet wouldn't be on the cards. The whys and wherefores are irrelevant.

Be honest though OP, if they had replied to your wishing well message, would you have replied to that again. Would you have tried to keep a conversation in the hope they would meet you for sex. Because really you don't know them, do you care about the house move or do you just want sex.

They may not have fancied you and did not want to start conversations that will not lead anywhere. Don't take it personally.

Lol.... I wouldn't get upset by it. We were messaged by a couple once who asked us what we were into so we explained as they asked and then without any further messages they blocked us ...wtf ...... But after I thought about it if we did not fit their taste then it's an easy way to save any waste of time for all. Harsh but simple. Since then we have been a lot more relaxed to people's reactions. We are all different which I guess adds to the attraction. Forget about it and move on .????

Most will see this as an attempt to engage in conversation so block to avoid it as soon as possible

"Polite no thanks isn't easier? Site tool can understand but when you just being polite and civil to someone then get blocked makes you feel like you been an abusive twat.

If they're moving house they are probably quite busy and stressed."

I get where you are coming from... I only block if and when people won't take no thanks.... however, a polite thanks to your good luck would have made you feel good. The acknowledgement. Perhaps that person was a man? Who isn't comfortable with another man being polite? Or a woman who only saw your cute boxers... and thought it was a pick up line? Moving is stressful for a lot of people.... but common courtesy seems to have flown the coop!!!

No he doesn't have to agree with me.

Making a big thing about blocking people who disagree with him like he's getting back at anyone is funny though.

All quite a few people have done is offer him an alternative and less hurtful way to _iew it. He's the one getting defensive when he's not getting the answer he wanted though.

Should we agree with him against our beliefs?

I was annoyed as was civil and nice noticed I was blocked when clicked back. You got blocked because your just not a very nice person. But you still on here with a big old shit stirring stick. Why don't you just chill. Relax. Love thy neighbours. I had a rant was over it as soon as I posted it. All this negativity and fault finding isn't healthy. "

"I get where you are coming from...

If you read his later comments you'll find it's not quite as straightforward as him being blocked for wishing them good luck.

Negativity and fault finding like moaning about rude couples who actually weren't rude at all?

You weren't actually being truthful though, which you later admitted.

Your later post put a different slant on things totally.

I'm being realistic, not attacking you, you just don't like what I'm saying.

I've asked you to stop mentioning blocking me. I am not discussing it. It is against the rules and it is trying to make this personal."

Again you are totally reading what you want to believe. I was being truthful I've said same thing all the way through you misinterpreted something I said at start. Why do you keep saying stop mentioning blocking it against the rules? Surely you mentioning it is bringing it back up? I'm more than happy for this thread to be removed as again like I've stated so many times I'm over it. Had a rant and felt good. You just won't let it stop. This me being realistic. I don't like what your saying as you just seem to be saying things to try cause an argument. Fair play to you love have fun

"

They were cuckold couple looking for one off discreet meets. I'm in the area for work so said hello. They said were busy moving. So I said shame but good luck with the move. Clicked back after it had been read and was blocked"

That means they don't want any more contact with you, most adults will accept this rather than start a thread airing your dirty washing, which is against forum rules.
