Redditch

If the messages are overtly sexual, detailing exactly what is going to happen when we meet, it generally is a fantasy that never happens.

Ravenstone

A string of cancelled meets/social, no meet verify and few close up photos (no long shot or multiple matching photos)

Sounds like you must have come across one.

Sorry about that babe, there are few around, but photo verify is one reason why I use this sit.

chatting about the meet is the big warning for me. also wanting to go off site quickly to isolate you from being able to chat with others seems to be another, especially if they want to trade dirty pics and videos.

You soon learn to spot them. 6th sense plays a good part now for me . If in doubt cut them off and move on

If it doesn't sound real, it is fake.

It it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it is a duck (not that I am advocating meeting a feathered friend).

""too good to be true" types...."

Definitely! If it sounds too good to be true it usually is!

Another sure sign is a single woman who wants to discuss possible meets - the claimed 22 year old athletic female is actually a 47 year old bloke wanking about all the descriptive messages he's receiving. Just don't get it myself!

Check the photos on their profile. The site has a very clever piece of code running which automatically spots fake profiles after they've been on for 2 weeks.

Once the fake is detected it automatically puts a very feint watermark across all their profile pictures which states 'Fake Profile' It can be very difficult to see but if your are a platinum supporter it also alerts you via text message or email - whichever you chose. The text/email option is definitely the best but of course will cost a little extra in membership fees over and above the Gold and Silver options which are more widely chosen. It's really clever piece of coding and to the best of my knowledge, Fabs is the only site to trial it up till now, however if it is a success I'd imagine it will be rolled out industry wide on these and other sites where there is a problem with fakes and fraudsters.

Great piece of advice above. Of course it's worth pointing out that you can't see the watermark unless you're wearing the special glasses, a bit like 3D.

I'm not aware of ever coming across a fake. I guess we automatically skip by, without really thinking about it.
