No love for part time smokers

For a community that prides itself as being open minded and non judgmental. I am shocked at the amount of people that don't understand smokers and the many nuances of smoking. The ignorance is truly appalling.

I have non smoker on my profile but smoke occasionally and the amount of people that refuse to meet me because I revealed during a chat I like an occasionally cigarette.. Has taken me back... Since fab doesn't have a choice of smoking options. I'm pigeonholed.So let me explain what kind of smoker I am..

I don't smoke everyday , mostly when I go out drinking.

I don't smoke in my apartment or car.

I carry gum , baby wipes, and cologne to use after every cigarette. I wash my hands 10 times per day and take 3 showers daily.

I can go weeks and months without a cigarette.

If I have a meet that day/night I don't smoke after I shower.

On holidays abroad I tend to smoke more due to the fact I'm going out more.

Sometimes I vape with my friends. But I don't own a vape machine. It's just something I will do if I'm drinking and no cigarettes are around.

This is not a moan.. I just feel like one of those guys that have straight on his profile but message couples telling them he is bi , or the guy who is straight and meets tv/ts/tg and other men for sex ... that's still straight. I feel your pain , they can't pigeonhole you as gay. They can't pigeonhole me as a smoker..

Believe it or not in the world of fab , this is normal.

Please don't label me. Labels are bad. I consider myself smoker fluid.. In my head I'm a non smoker because I have an occasional cigarette. Depending on the situation

My actions have no bearing on what you think. Because sometimes I vape and smoke a hookah. That's not tobacco so I'm not smoking.

Everyone has the right to make a choice on whomever they decide to meet and all the mints in the world won't disguise that fact.

I've played with a smoker who smoked not 20 minutes before, who also uses mints and for the whole day afterwards, I had an ashtray taste in my mouth and felt my lungs were filled with it, too! Not good when being a non smoker. So this is my choice not to meet a smoker, as no kissing nor sex is not worth feeling so terrible afterwards!

If you smoke occasionally you are a smoker. If you murder a person every year for six years, then miss a year out does that mean you are not a murderer any more? No. You're a smoker. The effects of a cigarette last for days and weeks... You're a smoker and obviously can't stop the habit, however little you may smoke.

A mind is like a parachute. It only works if you use it. Please try to open your mind.

I vape and smoke a hookah, so it's not always tobacco. I said I can go months without smoking. I don't buy cigarettes, I don't smoke when I'm at home, and I don't smoke when I'm sick. Again I'm a non smoker because fab only has 2 options and in my mind I'm smoker fluid . If you smoke one cigarette or vape it doesn't make you a smoker.

As an ex-smoker, of some 60 a day at times, think I can say with some authority: stale smoke stinks, even when smoking the following day my clothes used to turn my stomach so can fully understand why people won't meet smokers, sorry!

OP your what is medically referred to as a social smoker, the key word within that is smoker, so unfortunately you are a smoker. They probably loose interest because of the ammount of "non-smokers" that then turn out to want a fag when you agree to meet them there are out there, lots of smokers use the non-smoker label to help keep their options open in the same was the bi "straight" guys do

As a non-smoker that's always been a non-smoker, I can honestly tell you while I'm not opposed to meeting smokers, you can tell regardless of how well the smoker covers by washing hands having mints etc, you can still taste it and smell it, even vapers have a distinct taste to them

Because as deluded as "occasional" smokers are, and I was one, you can taste it. I had smoked the night before a social meet.

Between the cigarette and meet I'd eaten, drank, brushed my teeth three times, flossed and used mouthwash and he recoiled when he kissed me saying "you didn't say you were a smoker!"

I was mortified and thought he was being over dramatic, but fast forward ten years, I'd stopped smoking, met someone for a social meet, kissed him and nearly gagged in his mouth from the taste of nicotine.

I carry gum , baby wipes, and cologne to use after every cigarette. I wash my hands 10 times per day and take 3 showers daily.

My ex was a smoker he would never smoke in the house but the smell does follow him on his clothes that smell then seeped into the fabric of my sofa (so much so I got a new one once we split) so it does carry/Linger you just don't notice it because you're the smoker

If I have a meet that day/night I don't smoke after I shower.

On holidays abroad I tend to smoke more due to the fact I'm going out more.

Sometimes I vape with my friends. But I don't own a vape machine. It's just something I will do if I'm drinking and no cigarettes are around.

I'm not trying to be deceitful or lead anyone on. When setting up a meet.

I just think there could be a category on Fab for social smokers or part time smokers.

I work in a big office and I'm constantly spilling things on myself and hands. Also I use the phone and computers a lot. So I'm constantly washing my hands and using hand sanitizer.

Plus I might have a smoke if it's a stressful day.

I always shower before and after sex. I don't think that's crazy

My point is it's a medically undeniable fact that your a smoker it's not a personal label I'm giving you. You also have cigarettes, cigarettes contain nicotine so do most vapours it is still medically classified as smoking because you are in taking nicotine, it's also what leaves the unpleasant taste and odour though it is highly diluted in vapours it's still present

I am an ex smoker and now use a vape so no smell of smoke unless I have been out with smokers which I do not mind I normal only smell of donuts and blackcurrant I have put my self as a non smoker as I can go without the vape.

You do seem to have the steroetypical tendencies of an addict though OP, especially the way you try to rationalise and justify your habit, it's gone from only when I drink, then of more when I'm on holiday, oh and after a stressful day at work, oh and one after sex, it's my life my choice, I don't deserve to be labelled etc that's no essentially better than an alcoholic saying "it's just one drink I'm not an alcoholic"

Your way of thinking is so outdated. I'm very surprised I would run into this on a swinging site. I hope the next generation will overcome this fierce labeling that everyone seems to do on here.

Smoking is not like it used to be. Back in time people didn't have manners and would smoke anywhere. Bus , trains , restaurants, hospitals, and even airplanes. Nowadays With not being allowed to smoke indoors and even some public places. A new generation of smokers has come along. They are called respectful smokers. They may smoke but their clothes don't stink , their mouth doesn't stink , and you can't smell smoke on them.

Do they smoke ? Yes only sometimes , that could be once a day , month or year.

Can you call them smokers ? No because although they smoke sometimes you can't put that label on them. Because you have no right , and smoking is something that is fluid and changing all the time. In the beginning you had chewing tobacco, cigarettes, and cigars.

I don't smoke everyday , mostly when I go out drinking.

I don't smoke in my apartment or car.

I carry gum , baby wipes, and cologne to use after every cigarette. I wash my hands 10 times per day and take 3 showers daily.

I can go weeks and months without a cigarette.

If I have a meet that day/night I don't smoke after I shower.

On holidays abroad I tend to smoke more due to the fact I'm going out more.

Sometimes I vape with my friends. But I don't own a vape machine. It's just something I will do if I'm drinking and no cigarettes are around.

I'm not trying to be deceitful or lead anyone on. When setting up a meet.

I just think there could be a category on Fab for social smokers or part time smokers.

We three are lifelong non smokers . We do not care that you smoke . We however do not wish to have intimate sex with a smoker . It's your choice to smoke . It's our choice not to meet you because you smoke .

How about us in a nice hotel suite. Think mandarin orient in Knightsbridge or the Dorchester hotel with 2 bottles of champagne... after we have fully exhausted ourselves from great sex. I go out to the balcony to vape. Come back and have a quick shower then get on to more great sex
