"So, is it possible to be to 'nice' and respectful on a site like this? "
there is no such thing as being too nice...
as for being respectful, that seems to have gone by the wayside in recent years |

I think ppl can be overly polite but what bugs me most is when they send first message with there job title that gets an instant delete eg- hi im a sales manager from wherever. dont need to know its not a cv we dont want anything selling leave the titles at work guys. |

"The whole being a 'gentleman' seems to have gone to the wayside long ago as well, which is a shame!
I suppose looks are the most important for a lot of people, meaning personality comes second"
Are you saying that nice men get ignored in favour of good looking men? Do you mean to imply that good looks and good personality are mutually exclusive?
If I'm going to have sex with a man on a no strings basis I'm not ashamed to say that I want him to be good looking and nice. If that's wrong I'll happily own up to it. |

It's funny, I remember us getting a message from a guy some time back, asking us if amongst all the dross (or words of that effect, can't quite remember), we would be interested in a respectful well mannered man. He said it as though he thought he was a rarity on this site, and we would be pleased with such a find. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking politeness. But I thought at the time, what he was offering should go without saying, but what I really want is a man who can turn me on. |

Not in my book, I read messages from those people. It's the rude, pushy and disrespectful ones who get the delete and block combo....sadly, some people don't even realise how rude they are being. If you call them out on it, they get all "Whatdafukutalkinabaht"? |

On a site like this, looks are always going to matter a bit. You want to have sex with people you are attracted to but don't underestimate the attraction of being nice.
I do okay on here based mostly on the fact that I'm nice to people. |

Women have their fair share of horrors in life. It isn't only on fab that a minority of men behave in a rude and disrespectful way towards women. Ask any one of us and we could give you plenty of examples. Thank goodness most men aren't like that. |

It isn't possible to be too 'nice'. Although being nice isn't a guarantee of a meet. Nothing is.
I think the men that always behave politely are probably a little rankled by the threads not only criticising the behaviour of all men. And bewildered by the requests by women looking for 'chav/scallies/bad boys' etc.
The golden rule (for me) is to treat everyone with the same degree of respect as you would face to face. This goes in any form of communication, phone, text or in person. The fact that this website necessitates an initial online message does not excuse a poor attitude.
I have never made any derogatory remark whatsoever. Be the better (nicer) person. |
