Sometimes when we get msgs and the profile says it's a 41yr old person and you see their pic- I think either they've had a very tough life or they are not 41!!!
Anyone else had the same thoughts? |

I was once told that if you lie about your age, you should always say you are 5 or so years older. That way, you look younger for your age.
That said, I think it's just silly to lie about your age, your weight, or just whatever. If the person is interested in you, how can you pull it off when you meet in person? Lying just gives the other person a horrible first impression. What is the other person going to say? "Wow. I see that you are 6 inches shorter, and about 20 pounds heavier than you said. You're a liar. Want to shag?"

As a way of getting around filters and being able to message. I know of several forum users who have dropped their age considerably |

I think a lot of people lie about a lot of things. Age, height, weight, sexual orientation, all for the purpose of keeping their chances of meeting higher. Personally I can't see the point in it as you can't hide once you meet |

A lot of people lie about everything on here. Hence a picture paints a thousand words and you decide for yourself if they had a hard paper round or stretching the limits of "curvy". |

I think most guys under 50 are probably honest but I have lost count of the guys I have met supposedly in their early 50s who look as if they have had their free bus pass for years.... It happens all the time |

I am 101 but if you have 2 bottles of wine before we meet I do look the age I have put on the profile I also tell .fibs so up to you to decide if we ever meet |

I don't have all the details, but I once heard of a guy who lied about his RACE! ( I don't know the whole story...perhaps he had no pics on his profile, or maybe he used Craig's List )
Anyway, a lady went to meet him, and of course, he had to approach her at the meeting spot because he had lied about what he looked like. He told her that if he told people what race he really was, he would never get ANY meets!!
How in blazes did he expect any lady to follow through!!?? Is there really any lady who would say "Oh what the hell....I'm already here. Let's go!"

yes....they have their real age and then they have their 'fab' age...
obviously never a good idea to use if you are a BOBFOC and no matter how much you squint you just cannot imagine them ever looking that young   |

I am dreading my 50th birthday because somehow I feel that no matter what I will look like, people will look at my age and won't bother further. That's why it will be better to meet in clubs and parties because guys my age generally want younger women and younger guys want cougars (which isn't my thing).. |

I've seen the same person on here with 3 different profiles (not all at the same time) and 3 different ages. First he was 49, met for a social and he admitted he was 55, then came back with a new profile with his correct age and now he's back again at 46!!

This does cut both ways, people looking older and younger than our thoughts of how we normally age... Some don't look good in photos (me)
I don't mind that 'Fabbage' can be a slightly movable, it's about a connection and attraction.

I never lie about my age, but always hide it if there's an option, because people think I have really old photos up. I have just turned 55 but even recently, been told I look 34, 36 and 30! That's daytime and they haven't been drinking or need glasses. I'm grateful to not look my age, but never will lie |

Well I always get mistaken for being in my late teens, so I could easily say I'm 18/19/20 on here... but that'd get me too much attention from people who I wouldn't want to meet and I'd be too young for the people I do want to meet  |

I know you hear all this guff about how age is just a number (usually spouted by younger men ) but reaching 50 really was not a big deal...
but I suppose it helps that I don't and have never looked my age...
I could get away with knocking 5 years off but tbh why should I bother  |

It was so tempting to lie about my age when I set up my account as I look younger and I am being excluded from some people's search results due to age. Still I am glad that I was honest.

Oh I don't know, I know I have a preconceived idea of what I think a certain age looks like, whether I'm correct or not is a different matter. I look like a woman in my 40's, do I look like a woman edging 50, maybe to some yes maybe to others no.
One game I never play is guess how old I am ~ errrrr no thanks as I'll always be way out!

same here - i used to have overly sensitive skin to allsorts so stay away from make-up - im sure over my life time that not covering it and dragging it off at the end of the day (or not as the case may be) has helped |

A lot is down to genetics too. My mum had amazing skin & I've been lucky enough to have it too. |

I started off on here year's ago by knocking 10 years off, didn't have any advantage for me. Now I just think, fuck it, nearly 60, if they want me they'll be in touch! |

I just think that with better nutrition and exercise people are looking better and younger people care about them selfs now rather then 40 50 years ago when men and women look older because of there life style ie heaving drinking smoking and of course drugs some people have a good genetic make up and some don't! So when I say you don't look your age it's simple because your taken care of your self and bloody looking good hot kind regards as ways Joe ps am dyslexic so if some times it looks bad my grammar am sorry..... |

I met my fb through tinder cause my age is +2 on fb and hence tinder
Found her on here and couldn't message her cause im my real age on here

Had several cases who must have dropped their age by a decade. A quick Skype call or request for a 'on the spot selfie' sorted most out - followed by a block from myself.
Worse is when they display photos taken at a time when they looked completely different but use them as 'recent'. For me it makes all the difference as - if it is a face photo they display - I will just walk away due to not believing a word that person says anymore. |

Yes I believe it's just best being up front at the start but funny thing is I went to doctors for a health check with the nurse and she checked my height and either iv growing 2 inch or been wrong about my height for over 20 years |
