What are people's feelings on starting a group for post op mastectomy women. As a woman who as had this operation it would be nice to talk about there experience since there operation. Hope this doesn't offend anyone.

i see no harm in it personally

certainly not offensive to me

i can imagine it may help a lot of women who have manybe had the op but not got back into swinging yet to talk to other woman who have experienced this, maybe build their confidance up a little

If some one is offended, they they are the ones with a problem.

I had one at 36. Since had a double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery. I would really appreciate hearing about other women's experiences on here x

I have had a single mastectomy and not reconstruction. Since having this I have lost all my confidence and no one seems to want to meet us. We get in a conversation with people and once we tell them we never hear from them again. We feel we are no lesser people.

It wouldn't bother us one bit, although we can totally understand the loss of confidence after serious illness.

I (Mr) have scars all over from an illness and it makes me feel very self conscious.

We would love to be treated as normal though and be able to meet couples women etc but once you mention it people completely change.

Can't think of a better place to discuss this, plus find support for what you are asking.

I think this type of a support group for ladies affected and their partners would be a great idea. I have not been affected personally, but can imagine some of the issues that you must face. Good luck with the plan. X

I had a double with recon 9 years ago. I then met Mr Kinky a year later and we started swinging a year after.

My scars have healed well but I clearly look like I've had surgery - I used to joke that I look like an A-Z but now I don't really notice and every one we've played with has just accepted it. It's not on our profile cos it's not what makes us interesting/fun/kinky but we mention it before we play. At clubs I used to wear a basque/corset until happy and confident to be seen but in 8 years only 1 person has commented and she was just interested as she was about to have the same op.

After we read this forum post I asked Mr if he missed me having 'real' boobs and he said he just didn't think of them as anything unusual.

So my opinion for what it's worth - don't worry about it. And if you do, try and play with bum and fanny fans instead of boob-fans. Good luck

It wouldn't affect my decision to meet you, I would have no problem with meeting you.

I understand how it would affect you but it doesn't make you any less a woman, your beautiful and sexy x

As a single male, I find a woman with a mastectomy as alluring as any other. In fact, it's most sexy as it is a mark of bravery, which is a great quality to have.

Think this is a fantastic idea, survivors standing together and sharing their stories to help and encourage others to be strong. Xx
