I often see in people's status updates
" in town/London/(specific location) come say hello".
That's basically an open invitation to strangers on fab to actually say, hello.
I'd be cautious of statuses like this as I was once recognised by someone at an organised event just because of my lips
Doesn't safety and discretion kind of take a back step if this is put out there.
Just a thought |

Your lips? Aside from the innuendo joke there, I'd have been amazed - I'm guessing it's quite freaky though for that to happen! |

"Surely the status is more to let people know you are in a strange city and could arrange a meet?"
id say it depends on if they have verifications/ their age/ how long they have been on fab...
not many people can drop everything and meet a random person on the spur of the moment |

Don't see anything wrong with it. If I'm going to a club or social I put a meet up inviting people to say hello. Club nights can be so busy you can miss people. Some have come and said hi, little chat and gone no further. Some I've gone on to play with. Don't see anything wrong with being friendly with people. |

"Owww totally get it if someone says they're in a swingers club, it's when people say they're out in town in a vanilla club or venue."
A friend and I have been out in Chester and put a status up to see who's about, but not specifics. I don't know if I think having a stranger chat to you is that risky really tho? In a public place? |

It's may be, but now that I think about it, it's mostly single men or couples that post this. Personally as a single girl, I wouldn't be to sure as I don't know who watches my profile.
I suppose my point is safety.
If I were to put up a status like that, it would be like " here I am! Come get me "
I wouldn't worry about those that would message me. I'd worry about those that would watch from afar and recognise my by my lips
It's a bit stalker-ish |
