Nope, it's not just you. I'm pretty shtt at it myself so doesn't bother me as I'm more intersted in the person, their personality and if they want to fuck me rather than fuck with my mind. |

If it is the odd word here and there, no we all cock up every now and then. But if half the sentence is wrong and I have to sit there and try and figure out WTF they are trying to say, then yes, I don't have the time or the patience for that shit. |

I don't mind poor spelling so much as mine can be pretty carp at times and not everyone has been fortunate enough to have a great education.
That said, text speak and lack of any attempt at punctuation just screams out lazy to me and so I'm not likely to spend my time on someone I think won't put any effort into a meet. |

I do like good grammar but it's not a big thing...we are all different and how you spell isn't always a good sign of ntelligence...text speak also has its place. I don't use it, but as long as I can read and understand what is being said, it's not a problem
Communicating on here isn't the same as writing an essay is it?

I hate text speak, it is lazy.
I had a poor education but can still spell full words and construct a reasonable sentence.
Double negatives are another hate of mine. There is no need for them.
A person who has dyslexia or other conditions is not the point of the thread. |

'stupidity' mmm I would have thought someone like yourself in a position of possible discrimination at times wouldn't freely tar people with huge brush.
The Brain is a beautiful thing and works in many different ways. I've worked with people who have terrible grammar, however they have had the most creative minds I've seen...school may not have left an impression on them but they may have superior qualities to you and I in other areas. |

I cant't spell to save my life and my grammar is not much better. A failing of the school system or just me I don't know. However I feel it's discrimination to pick on someone who this affliction.

The spelling of words and the meaning is constantly changing grammar likewise. I left school over 30 years ago and English is so different now . Text speak will become more popular and spelling less important everywhere except fabs forumns i feel |

For starters, I'm dyslexic. It's amazing what a spellchecker and dictation can do!
In general, people will write as the speak. It's a clear indication to the level of conversation you're getting into. If all you're concerned about is "are they hot" it doesn't really matter.
Personally; if what is written would grate my ears if spoken, it'll have a negative impact on any attraction.
And yes I'm aware there will be someone who will find technical faults in the way this is written  |

From a professional point of view, I hate seeing poor spelling and punctuation on club event listings. If you know you are bad at spelling, then type the advert in 'Word' first, spell check it and then list it. It just comes across as sloppy and unprofessional.

From a personal point of view, I don't get my red pen out and start correcting spelling in messages as I totally understand that some people just can't spell or may even have dyslexia. But text speak in a PM does get on my nerves if I'm honest. Even if people are messaging from their phone, most of us use smart phones that auto correct text speak, so there really is no excuse for it.
If someone is sending me a PM to meet or to come into the club, then a bit of effort to send a proper message is always appreciated and I think it reflects on them much better
