As far as internet forums go?
I don't think it is. I'm on a few different ones, some football and a few others but as far as they go, I find this one pretty unwelcoming.
Why is this ??

Its not but on other sites there is no benefit discouraging people. There are some who are not just rude but plain nasty at times. I think if you are seen as a threat for available females you are fair game for abuse. |

I truly find it friendly but as I previously stated I have never used another so nothing to compare with.
Sure it goes 'tits up' at times and more than often it could have been prevented if people stopped 'wanting to have the last word' and folks agreed to disagree. We will all have the widest differences of opinions and I certainly dont agree with some.. but I respect the difference. |

Main reasons are the regular cliques and people who analyse any statement/or profile notes in minute detail hoping to pick a hole in things.
Lob in those with grievances against others and those making sanctimonious comments and you can see why people dont end up wanting to contribute.
You end up with stale forums where people dont feel they can contribute. |

this is a friendly place to be if you dont take it too seriously ......sometimes words written on a page can be misconstrued and you can get some flack for that (this has happened to me a few times ) but u have to let those times wash over u and move on ..as femme says stick around it can be fun .... and i have to say i was very grateful for the forums one very windy day when i thought i was gonna get blown away .....i was really scared but my fab friends were there metaphorically keeping me on the ground !!!! |

i think i have this opinion because I first got into this by going on the chat sites of another popular site. The people were all great regardless of there age, size, orientation.
However i don't find this forum that way at all. men sometimes get a tough time for no real reason, and the old "rolling eyes" seems the norm on most threads.
Shame. I guess this could be the first interaction many have with the swinging before a meet. |

It is a bit of one of those suck it and sees but most of the time a lot of the contrived or orchestrated behaviour just sucks. But its pretty transparent to spot the disruptives and even easier to avoid them unless they insist in being in your face all of the time. But then that shows a neediness on their part to be seen by you.
If you need to have your comments acknowledged or want to feel 'loved' for want of a better word by everyone, then I don't know why anyone posts on a forum. It isnt the place to win friends and influence people - its just another degree of attraction of finding those who's presence you rub off and those who just rub you up the wrong way in my experience.
I hope you have fun posting for your own enjoyment. |

I think it's because (and I agree with you), most groups of people have something very specific in common that rides over differences - football, for instance. Video games, etc., etc.
This forum doesnt have that as "sex" is just too big to seen and used as a levelling factor.
Therefore we feel we have less in common with others and so less need to be maintain a level of dceency with them. |

I have never found the forums unfriendly. There are those that seem to be more argumenative than others but you soon learn who they are and take no notice. I found reading through old threads helped me as some use sarcasm as their form of humour and it takes a while to get used to it.
I have not found it that there are any cliques either. Yes there are those that have obviously been chatting for a long time and have met at socials so they have solid friendships but I have never felt excluded when I have joined in. |

as always... if people spend more time looking at their own behaviours rather than always commenting on others, it would certainly be friendlier.
if people have a shitty day at work, then come on the forums spoiling for a fight.. it will kick off.. and both are as guilty.
as always, if you disagree.. don't make it personal, just move on. |

Ive seen a couple of comments from people who say their response depends on their mood of the day as if they're proud and somehow their honesty of having a bad hair day somehow excuses their crass behaviour. Nobody can be expected to mind read someones mood can they? Negativity is never as infectious as the days when everyones being as daft as a brush those types of threads are palpable with happiness and high jinx. |

surely the forums are what YOU make of them, there are some on here that i just have to ignore cos yu know they are baiting for a fight
if you are a happy person and ost happy things you will get happy responses (most of the time). behaviour breeds behaviour
yes sometimes your personal mood comes out - i have had to cancel many posts cos i have been in an arse and have been grouchy lol and i have had some rather interesting responses to innocent responses i have put cos they have had a bad day
keep on posting OP (mainly cos i like ya pic) but post happy non whinging threads cos they are better to read |

I think Femme is spot on. At times it can be unfriendly and sometimes people will attack for absolutely no reason at all. I think the opening post from the OP was an interesting question and its a good thread, yet the very first post on it was "unfriendly" and I dont think it was warranted.
If people are in a particularly vicious mood they go in for the kill, almost like a blood sport lol (slight over-exaggeration there). I get sick of typing, in my own opinion.
Of course we all have our off days and mood swings play a big part too. But I love this forum, and I enjoy the _iewpoints of the majority of people who post |

We more or less agree with that...we have both posted here regularly for about a year and still often feel like outsiders...
We find the 'regulars' will often totally disregard our comments (or other newbies) with a 'dont know them, wont read it move on' attitude..and then comment on something with more or less the same content thats from another 'regular'..
And we have often observed the situation where someone new starts a thread with a genuine gripe..and gets shouted down or the problem is brushed aside as being trivial..the normal reaction is 'thats life' 'move on' 'get on with it'...but when one of the crowd have a moan...their friends all join in in support and sympathy..
But..as for unfriendly..im not so sure..the people here all seem nice and genuine..
In summary Id would say friendly..but unwelcoming. (in some instances) |

And......(In the absences of an 'edit post' button).., if you really want to experience unfriendliness...try joining in or starting a conversation in the chatrooms...unless you have your boobs out you can forget it!....the in crowd will just steam roller everything in their path while they have their chat.
As forums go though...this place is still full of interesting and fun personalities..

I tried the chatrooms when I first started. At first I said hello a few times (about 6) then I moved onto hello all how are you, then I posted comments in relation to what was being said in there, all to no avail. I refrained from typing the words "answer me you ignorant bastards" as I didnt want to get banned or appear rude. I guess you have to get your tits out and then say hello |

Im not keen on the chatrooms either they need a bigger dialogue box so the text doesnt disappear before you get a chance to read it.
Great thing about the forums is the PM feature I love the mails that pass to and fro as its a one on one with a debate about the forum subjects so a win win situation of hearing a _iewpoint directly, especially from those who don't post openly. |

do i think this is friendly.... let put it this way.... there are a lot more harsh places...
I think the one thing about this place is that we don't tend to suffer fools gladly.... if you have something to contribute and don't act like an arse, they you'll tend to be find..
what you don't tend to see is a lot of people being spoonfed there there there and they can be mistaken for unfriendly...
people are always very quick to use the word "clique"... i always look at this place something akin to a pub....
people will know people on different levels... you wouldn't expect to go into a pub on visit one and every to treat you like they had known you for years....
people come.... people go... but without the regulars so to speak you wouldn't have half the fun you would do... |

I like chat - and can quite happily chat in there without cam on or fully clothed with cam on - but there are quite a few people in there that I 'know' to have a craic with without flashing my boobs
The forums can appear cliquey at times - but it's as _abio said "look at this place something akin to a pub...." There are a couple of posters who always seem to want to start an argument - I just ignore those, same as I'd ignore similar in a pub.
Overall I find the forums fun - and I'm also one of those who used the site first and then found the forums. |

ive only been using the forums for a few weeks now, i reply to ones that catch my eye and leave those i have no interest. i have found most peeps on it are friendly, even sent mail to person by mistake when a thread had closed and sent message to apoligise and it was accepted with no problem, as for cliques, some people have known each other a long time and have got to know each other and some may even be good friends, but you will get that no matter where you are whether it be at work, social club etc You get out of it what you put into it. |

Some really good posts here, I particularly like the one from CamSwing 2011.
My _iew is that I don't believe you can generalise for everyone and say the forum is friendly or unfriendly, your opinion whichever you choose to have is correct because it reflects your experiences. This is a horrible environment for some people, a great laugh for others and to the majority of members it's probably a waste of time!
But I do believe it actually reflects society in it's own way. Any pub, bar or social event you go to will have the 'in crowd', the show offs, the hanger onners, the nice friendly people, the quiet people, the loudmouths, the bullies, the rude etc.
Wherever you go there's always a loud table, a quiet table, there's always a weak bloke agreeing with everything a women says because he wants into her knickers.
I just think it is what it is at the end of the day and just llike in real life you can either choose to sit on the noisy table or have polite or stimulating conversation with someone on the sidelines.
I think threads like this are great now and then because they remind some on the noisy table that they're not the only ones in the pub!
(Im rambling on, blame it in the red wine!) |

I agree with much of what you've said Fabio, but I will say that some of it also highlights the issues some on here complain about 'we don't suffer fools gladly', who's 'we', or do you mean 'I'?
Your version of a fool might just fall into someone elses version of a naive person.
Define 'acting like an arse' would we all have the same definition?....and for it to be a contribution does it need to be at least close to our argument?
I'm purposely being pedantic, I find you personally to be very tolerant, but I can see how a newbie or someone who feels on the outside may percieve a 'clique'.
For the record, I don't think there is one. |

Why?
Why should someone change the way they are just because they are joining in on a forum?
Sometimes people do go to far and it does get really ugly and personal, ive seen it many times on here and yes sometimes it is bullying. |

Sometimes people do go to far and it does get really ugly and personal, ive seen it many times on here and yes sometimes it is bullying."
yup.. |

Hi,
I've only really started posting on the forums this month so hopefully I'll have something worthwhile to say.
There are some absolutely fantastic people on here who have been really friendly, encouraging and helpful.
Yeah, I've had one or two rude replies, but literally only one or two, and I think you're going to get that anywhere.
Like someone else said, it can be easy to misconstrue a written comment. And people tend to see the bad side of things if - for example - they're on a swingers site and no one wants to meet them.
Lastly - a clique? I don't see it that way. There are people who obviously know each other quite well and have personal jokes, but whenever I've joined in I've been included and I think I'm slowly getting to know a few people.
Hope that helps

When I first saw this thread I was tempted to answer with.........
" don't be stupid of course it is friendly on here now bog off if you don't like it !" .....But I thought Admin might be overwhelmed with the reports if they thought I was serious so I thought better of it
I think Blackspice's post was a gooden though |

"As far as internet forums go?
I don't think it is. I'm on a few different ones, some football and a few others but as far as they go, I find this one pretty unwelcoming.
Why is this ??
"
Stay a bit longer you will find some really friendly and fun people on the forums as well as those who like to stir. |

some people on here can be pretty rude, i get a few snotty private messages on here from people who have dis agreed with something ive posted
I find lots on here only seem to come on to rip other peoples profiles and posts apart, more so new people, you see small groups of people who are obviously friends and if one has a pop at someone all their 'mates' come and have a poke too
What annoys me the most is people with their eye rolling emotocons and sarky "use the search button" comments to anyone who dares ask a question thats been asked before, i mean if thats how it works, your not allowed to ask a question someone else has asked, we may as well lock off the forums and just search everything
I find some people can me pretty unwelcoming on here |

Out of all the forums I've used, regardless of topic, e.g. sport, cars etc I don't think its the most friendly or welcoming.
I imagine without reading too many of the replies above, this kind of comment will be followed by a "you have a bad attitude" or "well post somewhere else" etc, but its a general answer to a general question - before anyone pops their top. |

I've seen it. That sort of behaviour is inexcusable.... this is an 'adult' website. I can't believe 'adults' can act that way
Fucking disgraceful. |

It's the spaz table it has no head!
The Spaz table is an ancient round table and all that sit at it are equal. We recant tales of our noble quests and nibble on rabbit shit. |

"Main reasons are the regular cliques and people who analyse any statement/or profile notes in minute detail hoping to pick a hole in things.
Lob in those with grievances against others and those making sanctimonious comments and you can see why people dont end up wanting to contribute.
You end up with stale forums where people dont feel they can contribute."
Yep they deffo need a 'like' button in these forums cos I totally agree with this post! |

i like the sarcasm, the sanctimonious, the cheeky, the people who come in after a bad day,and give it to everybody.
the self opinionated,the argumentative,
the clique's.the patronising.
the bullies, the rate my profilers, the look at me's,the i can stick my cock up own arse guy.
the funny,the nice,the helpful.the d*unk weekenders,the mods(bastards).
how boring, and pointless, would the forums be.without all these people.
i can imagine nothing worse, forums wise.
than everybody being agreeable,and sycophantic.
VIVE LA DIFFERENCE!!!! |
