In the few times I have been to a club - not same club - I have seen 2 women play bare back with others that clearly were not the husbands or partners
Now don't get me wrong, I appreciate its not for me but it was interesting to see that both were I would say an older generation than me
I was wondering, does bareback play tend to be in older generation or does it happen with the younger swingers as well
A warning this is not a bare back vs non bareback more of a who participates in bareback |

This is not a bareback vs non bareback
I am discussing the socological side of it in the generations
What I am saying that the couples that look for bareback, do tend from my recent 2 experiences are slightly older
So do younger swingers bareback, and what is the driver behind that. Is it condoms were not as prevelant in older generation

The older generation has already had children.
So they don't care if they die of AIDS |

I know you're wanting it to be a bb v ss but it'll only end one way. One of the last times it came up on here, we got involved and ended being blocked for just having an unbiased view by several regulars. Made me realise talking about mass genocide was probably a safer bet on here.
Good luck anyway. |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
It could have been a case of poor judgement, or it could have been they know the guy and have agreed to bareback. It may even have been they were pissed and didn't realise.
I know STIs are on the up in all age groups, not just older/younger people. People don't like using condoms, and sometimes in the het of the moment things get missed. I just ensure my own sexual health as that is the only thing I have control over. |

Older people won't die of AIDs full stop. I think people are willing to take more risk once they've had children who have grown up enough. Just aanecdotal experience. |

We have a pill in America that blocks HIV. They give it to gay men and they take it everyday. It won't help with herpes or hepatitis.... But it's a start.

I was thinking this but it was mixed with a bit was condoms used as much in the older generation when they were younger - I am talking pre-AIDS and condoms advertisements |

That's why when you reach 50, nobody wants to play. Because we all bb!
Why would it have anything to do with age? Teenage pregnancy? Morning after pill because of a heavy night at a club? Sexual desire takes over?
Other than teenage pregnancy none of the above is age related. |

This is a very good question . I have only ever seen someone going bareback once in a club . But I do know people of all ages that enjoy bareback. Before we all start pointing the finger and telling everyone the health risks . We shoild ask ourselfs do we not smoke ,drink and eat unhealthy foods? Std,s show themselves alot quicker than cancers or liver disease .
I think we all take unnecessary risks in life regardless of our social background . |

My generation is woefully undereducated on what is safer sex and what is not. We became sexually active at a time when the pill was easily available and encouraged and condoms were just a means to prevent pregnancy, no body had heard of HIV and information about SITs didn't exist. We then got married in many cases and didn't need to know about protection from infection. Hence some of my contemporaries belief that SITs are something other people get. |

From the NHS
"Although HIV cannot be cured, the life expectancy for people with HIV has improved rapidly over the last 20 years, due to modern treatments that help to control the condition.
This means that the life expectancy for someone living with HIV, who is on anti-retroviral treatment and responding to treatment, is no different to the general population.
However, if you have HIV, your own personal life expectancy will depend on several factors. These include how early the condition was diagnosed and how early treatment began, your gender, and whether you smoke, or misuse drugs or alcohol."
If you smoke don't bother with condoms, you have a 1:5 chance of dying of cancer. |

This was kind off what my initial thoughts on subject were. I believe also with sex education in schools being for my generation taut we are encouraged from 12 / 13 to use
I suppose what I have seen so far from thread that there is a slight generation gap between bb and ss |

Sex education in school for me consisted of a very embarrassed pe teacher drawing a diagram on the board and a film made in the early sixties with a girl being called home from school because her mum was having a baby. Set me up for life |

I don't think anybody would go to a club and have unprotected penetrative sex with a complete stranger. But the pairs playing could well have known each other extremely well and have come up with an arrangement where they play bare. I've know idea if age has anything to do with. |

Firstly we will and have played bareback with couples and one regular single guy. We accept the risks.
If at a club we would potentially play bareback, but only after a good old chat with the couple. Not a great screening method but I say again, we know the risks and are happy to take them xx
We are mid thirties by the way. |

i only had bareback when younger, before i had kids, and used to fuck at least 2 different guys a week. it was how things were back then because nobody really cared if they got STDs. the worst thing anyone i know got was crabs.
nobody really caught anything, people were local so if anyone had got something everyone would've known. and i reckon if something had been going round then people might have got more wise and protected themselves.
now you're fucking people you have no idea about, no idea of their sexual history, so bb might be a throwback to the past by our generation that comes from a time when people had more knowledge about each other, i don't see why it would apply to how sex is now though and it shouldn't really but most people still don't have STDs so i guess that's why it happens.
i'd personally prefer bb but not with guys who fuck loads of people coz that's just stupid. |

Anecdotally; I.e in my experience; the only people that have asked me to bareback are the +40 age range. Having said that not many people (about 25%) under the age of 40 contact me; so I would say my experience is a little skewed.
I don't bareback and I don't judge those that say they do; I just don't meet them as it's one of my preferences, however I am always disheartened to discover after the fact that a play partner does....I prefer informed choice and dislike liars, regardless of their preferences |

Tbh, you have to do what ever works for you, even if you are shown a test off a potential play mate, there's nothing to say they've not had unprotected sex in between taking that test and having sex with you. Like anything in life, you way up the risks and choose accordingly.
Condoms are no magic barrier either, the only true way of protection is to be monogomous. |

So you ask a potential meet if they have ever played bareback in the past? On the very odd occasion I/we have chosen not to use condoms (twice),so to you it wouldn't matter if all clinic results have come back clear. Are you saying someone has lied to you and said they alway's use condoms? If someone was to question my past history I think I would tell them it's non of their business it's a bit like when people have judged me for having met a bi guy,it doesn't feel great and yes I know we all have preferences. |

No I don't think there's any need for a rant at me is there?.. in answer to your question; I state on my profile that I don't play bareback; I would trust that anyone contacting me would respect that. I state in any messages that I only play safe and have said "thanks but no thanks" to those that message otherwise.
I never ask outright because I would hope other members would respect my preferences as I respect theirs |

Older people won't die of AIDs full stop. I think people are willing to take more risk once they've had children who have grown up enough. Just aanecdotal experience.
I was thinking this but it was mixed with a bit was condoms used as much in the older generation when they were younger - I am talking pre-AIDS and condoms advertisements "
I think I know what you're asking- I'd say those people pre- the AIDS adverts etc may be more likely to bb. In more recent years condoms and safer sex were 'advertised' more.
However in certain groups people don't even think of sti's, whatever their age. |

"In the few times I have been to a club - not same club - I have seen 2 women play bare back with others that clearly were not the husbands or partners
Now don't get me wrong, I appreciate its not for me but it was interesting to see that both were I would say an older generation than me
I was wondering, does bareback play tend to be in older generation or does it happen with the younger swingers as well
A warning this is not a bare back vs non bareback more of a who participates in bareback"
I've always been aware to practice safer sex with people that I don't know, probably because, as I came into my teens during the 80s, the huge campaign to protect yourself from AIDS. However, we've played with ages from late 20s to early 60s (mostly men), and it was a lady in her early 60s (not from this site) who said, 'I can't get pregnant anymore', when I asked partner if he had brought the condoms with him! |

I suspect once a woman knows she's not fertile anymore, as long as she is happy that the risk of STIs from the guys is liw enough for comfort, yep, she'll be asking the guys not to use condoms! I've seen it and heard women say as much. Fertile women tend to be more concerned about getting an unwanted pregnancy than about STIs if it's a casual encounter with a trusted male. |

Normally I prefer to go bareback. I don't enjoy it as much using a condom and have always been sti free. But doesn't mean I won't use one, if that is the wishes of the other party. |

Hi, As a gay man I can only comment on what I have noticed in the gay community. I have recently been asked by several gay guys to fuck them bb and they have all been under 30 and stated their HIV status and when they were last tested. Most are on Prep too and it is also stated clearly. So in my experience it's mostly younger guys wanting to fuck bb, but they seem very clued up on the risks and what they are doing to prevent infections.

"Anecdotally; I.e in my experience; the only people that have asked me to bareback are the +40 age range. Having said that not many people (about 25%) under the age of 40 contact me; so I would say my experience is a little skewed.
I don't bareback and I don't judge those that say they do; I just don't meet them as it's one of my preferences, however I am always disheartened to discover after the fact that a play partner does....I prefer informed choice and dislike liars, regardless of their preferences
I never ask outright because I would hope other members would respect my preferences as I respect theirs "
Heavens you saw that as a rant! . Calm down dear I was merely having a conversation with you,I will cease to do so... |

I usually ask people how they feel about BB with non-committed partners. If they're into it, they're not for me. |

I can no longer get pregnant and you can take it from me that I won't be letting anyone but my husband near me bareback. |

I agree with Wasp Hunter on this. If some one will have bare back sex with me they probably have/will have sex with others bare back.
However, if you are in a long term trusting relationship the feasibility of not using condoms lends itself to activities that using condoms does not such as cream pie clean ups/queening. |

As I said earlier in the thread, I don't think it's age related.
As previously said by nice couple sex education perhaps wasn't as good as it was now, but as someone who 'grew up' through the AIDS/hiv 'epedemic', it was certainly spoken about a lot in the news etc, I would think my generation (50's) are only too well aware of the risks involved. If you are going down a generational line then maybe it is the generations either side of me that may be more likely to take risks.
I suppose everyone can make their own minds up on the risks of hiv and any of the other STDs that are available. |

I am discussing the socological side of it in the generations
What I am saying that the couples that look for bareback, do tend from my recent 2 experiences are slightly older
So do younger swingers bareback, and what is the driver behind that. Is it condoms were not as prevelant in older generation
The older generation has already had children.

We prefer bareback but it doesn't mean we exclusively bareback...like everything nowdays, it's down to risk assessment. We recognize the risk and get tested regularly...I'd be more concerned by people who practice safer sex and don't bother getting tested. Don't forget, lots of nasties can be spread orally and other ways. The lifestyle can never be 100% safe, anyone who thinks it can, is naive. |

Hmmm...it is an interesting question.
(1) Some of us who are old (to some it seems) but still alive (i.e. over about 50 or so) became (sometimes very) sexually active when the only reason to use a comdom, as someone has already said, was to prevent pregnancy. If there was some other means of birth control, for example if the female half was 'on the pill' they weren't often used.
(2) We can't really get our minds around it being OK, for example, for a bloke to play with his cock which may be...ahem...'leaky' as a result of him being rather excited and then finger a female who is not his partner, but fire and brimstone will rain down on all of them if they actually had bareback (or any of a number of other scenarios we've heard discussed in various threads - sucking cock, then licking pussy etc etc etc).
We absolutely understand people want to minimise risk, and share that view...but if we took it to extremes we wouldn't ride a bike because it's 'dangerous' and wouldn't get the immense pleasure we do from doing so...

Being of the 'older generation' and enjoying a few casual partners in the 1980's when bareback was the norm, we had the 'pill' to protect us! |
