Diet and exercise - quite simple in theory, you need to be in a calorific deficit i.e. You need to burn more calories than you consume!

it keeps going big at the top half and disappears on it's own as well. diet doesn't seem to affect it really but i might try exercise. hate sit ups.

I wouldn't go for sit ups just yet, maybe some cardio to begin with and then sit ups when you really want to start toning your stomach.

Try spinning if your ok sitting on a bike..Stop eating bread if you eat it alot. Drink lots of water. Stay away from anything fizzy. Try eating protein more than carbs. Salad fruit and good carbs. ( brown rice, wholemeal products etc). Loads of turkey chicken and sea food. You'll find that the arthritis gets a bit easier to deal with as well as you get healther.

Goodluck.

When I was bigger in my late 20's, I lost 3 stone by cutting fizzy drinks out. No other lifestyle or diet changes, just fizzy drinks.

OCRs and 10k road races mainly.

Have a 12k OCR with 96 obstacles on Sunday. Have a PB of 2hrs and 23min to beat.

Tried half marathons, didn't get on with them. I keep contemplating a full marathon, just to say I've done one.

I keep coming up with excuses with the full marathon, so I know I'm not ready.

See with a 10k, you can wing it, even a half marathon you can wing with a basic level of fitness. But a full marathon, that cannot be winged!!!

I have a road 10k at the end of the month, and then I'm having a go at a trail 10k. I like prettiness whilst I'm running, so I think hill and trail running will be better for me.

i'm gonna ask someone to go with me because i keep getting fobbed off every time i go about this. been telling them i've had trouble walking for a couple of years now, then i thought i sprained my shoulder a few times by only carrying my bag on it, they fobbed this off as something to do with diabetes and told me to exercise more and i said again that i'm having trouble moving my legs and even walking much. then this month they said i had markers in my blood for RA and i have to go for more blood tests in a few months, they should be able to something. weird thing is my arms went before my legs did, idk.

...i enjoyed that whinge. and gonna stop drinking as well.

Trail and fell running is the best, As you say there always something nice to look at. Endurancelife down the south of the UK run big trail events. 10k, half marathon, full an ultra. Little pricey but well organised. Goodluck with the 10k.. You'll love the trails

I've recently started going swimming, primarily as a way of working out and supporting my knee but I also want to tone and improve my fitness. So far it seems to be helping, I'm gradually increasing the amount that I'm doing to help with the impact too
