Learning to dance. Learning anything together is a fun way to break the ice, but the closeness of dancing with a partner goes further. I haven't done it myself, but just seeing the relationships develope on Strictly is proof enough. |

I don't particularly choose hobbies which mean I will meet people, I choose them because I enjoy them. Watching football is my favourite and I meet lots of people through that, but I would still watch it, irrespective of others. Lots of the time I am so focused on the game, I tune out everything and everyone else around me. |

I've previously taken ballroom lessons and I was surprised how few chaps were interested.... the stats were definately in my favour.
Another couple of clubs I previously attended were running for fitness.... and a scuba diving club. Scuba was perhaps the most fun as the vast majority of the club I supported were professionals in their 20 to 30's who saught fun and new experiences. |

Tango.
Not enough men go to classes, and if you go to any milonghas (sp?) or tango dance sessions,the men are there at the side of the hall,watching your techniques seeing how well you dance. And if you're a crap dancer be prepared to sit there for the whole night.
I'm not kidding.
Nerve wracking experience for a woman. I've sweated bricks under that microscope. Literally.
Nice style of dance of the senses, which can turn into a very sexual thing. It can depend on the man, how well he leads, and of course, chemistry.
Tango can be quite technical and difficult to pick up at first, especially for the man. But stick at it. I've known one person who purposely found a partner through a tango class. A beautiful dancer he was too, but he will not attend another dance class cos he found his woman. (His woman still goes though).
I've never seen a male tango without a woman. Get skills as a tango dancer.
The birds will be flocking..

I've had horses. Always plenty of young ladies to mix with and a roll in the hay.
I (mr) often went riding alone to a local country pub. I would always catch the attention of some young lady who wanted to talk about my steed. The subject of riding always came up with the obvious innuendos. |

Creative writing classes are a great place to meet women - not so popular with mem.

I have a non-swinging friend who took up ballroom dancing after his divorce he found he had a bit of a talent for it so kept it up and he now has no end of lady suitors from a wide age spectrum |

I saw the title of the thread and opening it aiming to suggest this....beat me to it as you are correct. Ration usually 3 or 4 to 1 women:men in these things.
I found a good trick when I was at uni.....if you went to a disco....3-4 men: 1 women.
However....Barn Dance (don't laugh) was usually the opposite way round....easy pickings! |

In my not too long ago past I had a hobby that turned into a lot more than I expected ,I became a semi pro motorbike racer. I didn't go into it to " meet " other people but I will say that it did seem to put me into situations of meeting women who liked the same thing , don't know if it was the danger factor or the tight leathers , personally I thought I looked better when my helmet was on with a darkened visor lol. |

I hate the idea that guys might take up hobbies just to hit on someone.
Just do things you enjoy. If you meet someone organically - great! If you don't, then you're still doing something you enjoy. |

I find the gym and other sports related clubs or attending classes at the gym a fantastic way of meeting people. Often I then go out in town and when more relaxed, women and girls come up to me and say hi, because they recognise me from the gym  . Its all about putting yourself out there really |

It is pretty creepy just to take up a hobby to meet women.
But as someone who has run a few photography groups in my time - it's almost impossible to stop people coming to groups just because they're a creep. (You can imagine that it's like in photography when many people take it up just to photograph young naked women.) |

The last yoga class I went to, for about the first 3 weeks, I was the only male. There was me wondering if other students might feel uncomfortable but actually me and the the guys who joined later were welcomed. |

Anything to do with environmental conservation is another good way to enjoy mixed company. National Trust and BTCV. Local wildlife charities etc. are all looking for volunteers.
