Yes. Any half decent piercer will tell you if it's possible. However if there is lots of scar tissue they might suggest a slightly different positioning. |

It would probably be better getting a new piercing done, trying to go through an older hole rarely produces a perfect result due to alignment but there isn't usually a reason it can't be done.
Bare in mine, piercing through scar tissue is often more painful. |

"Easiest thing to do is just phone your local tattooist/piecing parlour and they will advise you if you can or can't xx"
Be very careful check that they are registered with the council and most have there own Facebook pages where customers will give a honest opinion |

No I used a proper piercing needle. Slightly misaligned it but it was OK. Hurt like hell though. Really would not recommend diy unless you have a kink for it lol |

If it's still possibly open, try getting one of the tapered plastic rods from the piercing shop.
They're held in place by little rubber o rings and being tapered can be eased through, slowly opening the original hole up enough to get a bar through..
Worked very well for a friend of mine, took a couple of days and was good as before.
Just an idea and depends on how open it is...
They cost pennies and are available in lots of sizes.. |

"Not sure I'd want to buy something plastic to potential open a wound, I would look for the metal Insertion Pins which you can do a reasonable job of sterilising if you really want to go DIY. "
Ok thanks |

Oh name wise search for Tapers, Stretching Pins but officially they are Insertion Pins.
The intertion pins are better are because they have a small recess at the back where the jewellery slots in, so you can easily place it.
The are usually in single steps 1.6-2.4-3.2-4-5-6-8-10, plastic ones can do from 3.2 to 6mm as they are not designed for stretching or opening.
Oh use lube, ky jelly is a good option but most are fine. |
