Having read through the worst first message thread and the one liners, backhanded compliments and sexual cv's that everyone seems to find either cringe-worthy, block-worthy or should be sentenced to death immediately-worthy, I was wondering what would you deem to be the best way to come across in a first message to avoid a blocking/public flogging with a wet lettuce?
Or what has been the best message you've received that's made you want to start handing out gold stars for effort even if they aren't your type?

It didn't come to anything mind. Think they recognised one of us from our face pics..
