Irreconcilable sexual incompatibility (often combined lack of honest & open communication) splits couples. Whether the hornier party does swinging, has affairs, is a porn addict is irrelevant. I could argue that swinging has kept together as many couples as it has split, by providing excitement and release! Monogamy is tedious |

I think monogamous couples get divorced and no one says "oh its because you were monogamous, thats why the relationship failed" but if a swinging couple gets divorced, everyone assumes its because of the swinging. Its a bit of a double standard in my mind.
It doesnt matter if you are straight or LGBT, married, or in a relationship, or civil union, if you are swingers, poly, monogamous or anything else. Some relationships work out, and some don't. |

Ok Ok Ok, I will no doubt get slated for this, but this is my experience...... that's all.....an observation. The couples I have met on this scene, there has always been some politics going on in the relationship, one is happy, the other half isn't that keen.
I feel that with some, not all, it's a last ditch attempt to save the relationship.
But don't get me wrong, you true swinging couples, which I feel make up the minority, I take my hat off to you. |

I don't think you'll get a couple on here, even one that isn't happy, saying it's because of swinging. It's an unspoken code not to question the belief that swinging means you have the best relationship and any couple that doesn't swing has an awful relationship. I do wish swinging couples would get real and acknowledge that it's possible to have a wonderful monogamous relationship and it's also possible to have an awful swinging one. Any relationship should be more than swinging, so if anyone judges their relationship on their swinging experience I feel very sad for them. A great relationship is more than swinging .... I love the fact that I have a great relationship with my partner but we have a loving relationship first and the fact that we swing is incidental, not central to it. |

Certainly we use swinging as a bonus to our relationship, if one said its time to stop we would without any problems, but we only do it once or twice a year sometimes not even that |

One of our meets blamed us when his wife found out about his lifestyle, despite the fact that he was swinging for ages before he met us. He tried to get us to text him to say he was forced into it.
Forced? What the actual fu.... |

Forcing someone into swinging only shows lack of respect in the relationship and that something is wrong anyway.
As for leaving your partner for someone new, it happens with or without swinging involved.
Relationships should be about a lot more than just sex. |

Is it 1 in 3 or 1 in 2 marriages that ends in divorce these days? Not sure, but either way these are very high statistics for the whole UK population, of which swingers are a small minority. And I believe that adultery is very high on the list of reasons for divorce, though I have no idea of the actual statistic. However, the frequency of adultery in vanilla life, certainly makes me question whether monogamy is actually natural for human beings. Who knows. Would be interesting to find out the divorce/separation rate of swinging couples. And when I say swinging couples, I mean where both parties enjoy the lifestyle. Does the lifestyle inevitably tear marriages apart that would otherwise have been happy marriages? Or does it provide an honest outlet for those who would otherwise have cheated? One thing I am certain of is that sexual compatibility is absolutely vital for a successful marriage. So if one person is naturally monogamous and another person has a natural desire for multiple partners, to me that is incompatible. I for one, would not entertain a long term relationship with someone who did not understand my need for multiple partners, because I know I would crack eventually. |

We both came into this because it was something we had both brought up separately. Neither of us will make the other do anything I personally like Mrs to take the lead but I can still say no. This has so far made a huge difference for the better in our relationship. I feel our trust now is huge, our respect is massive and our personal sex luge couldn't be better. We just like the thought of sharing our sexiness with other sexy couples. I can't think it will ever cause us to split up. x |

We agree entirely, love swinging but love each other more, it's just fun, can give up tomorrow if we wanted to, have a great marriage before swinging, a great marriage while we are swinging and the best marriage after. |
