May sound daft but everytime we have a real good sex session with playmates - i end up with thrush a few days later.
I do have an allergy to latex - so buy latex free condoms - and when im treated for thrush my hubby does too - so what am i doing wrong !! Really annoys me as it puts a dampener on having fun !!! Anyone got any tips please xx |

other peeoples sex toys done the deed for me and also know of another couple whos fem has repeated case of vaginal vaginosis.
leaving the sex toys out of our meets helps obviosly but im not allergic to condoms |

Shaz used to get it often and she's real clean.
After reading on the net that to hot a bath can encourage it made Shaz change her 2 red hot baths a day to 2 luke warm baths a day.. Now she has not had thrush for about 5 year 
Not saying that is you but try cooler baths.

you can also catch thrush from oral sex , check for a white coated tongue on anyone who gives you oral as well, avoid tight fitting none cotton clothing on your bottom half, it is also quite common after a course of antibiotics for any other infections ie chest etc.
canestan combi with the capsule for oral and cream for the area works wonders as i suffer from it quite often |

i get thrush with antibiotics but you get capsule from doc and cream clears straight away ........it's bloody nightmare as i have them every month with steriods as i have real bad chest ,warm baths r good i find get some oilatam bath milk soak innit and it helps easy you 2 .natural yougurt is real cooling and helps x |

Maybe try taking acidophilus in the run up to a meet (if you organise them in advance) and for a couple of days afterwards. It replaces the friendly bacteria in your gut and is far more powerful than live yoghurt (which contains the same thing but in lower quantities). Also try a few drops of tea tree oil in your bath (not on the day of your meet though as it has a strong smell).

Immerse a natural sponge in the yoghurt and then insert.
Mention has been made of loose fitting cotton clothing. Underwear is a case in point. I wouldn't be in the least surprised if the modern enthusiasm for low temperature machine washes doesn't in some way contribute to the constant re-infection some women report. |

Firstly I'm not a scientist so take this with a element of caution. But as far as I'm aware the virus for thrush lives in women most of the time. The problem maybe just that through having sex there maybe quite a bit of friction which will cause small tears. So allowing the virus to catch on through the tears.
Maybe some extra lube may reduce the friction.
Just a theory that we came up with, as we had been monogomous for something like 10 years before getting into swinging and during that time my wife/gf. Would often get thrush after sex.
As we would both take treatment and did not sleep with others the only conclusion we could come to was that it was the friction of sex causing it to catch on, as there was no possible outside source.
Just an idea. |

I've wondered that before. If ever I've had thrush (usually as a result of antibiotics) I've thrown my underwear away after wearing it. When cotton knickers are 5 pairs for around £3 its no real hardship. |

antibiotics r the worst things for giving you thrush if u ask doc they can give u dif one so u dnt get thrush instead pencicilian or amoxiline ......also softners in you wash can cause you thrush as well so avoid in you wash . |

live greek yorgert..use over night on and around area, wear panties and liner, shower next day.......should not come bk, did this way bk in my 20's when lived in greece and got it via cotton panites as too hot, worked for me never got it since. |

another thing to do is use a good antibac on sex toys when they have been used the rise with clean water and dy with kitchen towel vibe fresh and stuff like it dont kill all bactreria where as something dettol spray will do but you must and i me must state rinse after with clean water after we have a vast aray of sex toys we have used at partys and touch wood upto know all have been ok at the parties phewwwwwwwww
also if at a party and your playin with toys make sure after you have played with it none else useit and the use it back on you as again your only then as clean as the last person that used it |

If you find you have outbreaks of thrush frequently, it is a good idea to go to the GUM clinic and have a check-up whilst you have your symptoms. There are a couple of less common conditions which are often mistaken for thrush…. and no they are not sexually transmitted… the reason for suggesting the GUMC rather than your GP is the clinic will be able to do the tests and have people who know about such conditions (they’re not only there to treat the clap you know). |

Thrush is not a virus its a yeast imbalance. If you are getting it after sex with different partners (even if condoms are used) I would suggest you get checked for bacterial vaginosis. It is a bacterial imbalance which can be brought on having different sexual partners. Neither of them are sexually transmitted diseases just vaginal imbalances and boiling your knickers will only ruin your knickers lol I expect extra lube would aggravate things more |

It could of course not be a fungal infection at all…. and could be an autoimmune condition…. which can be treated with steroids.
This is why it is better to go and ask someone who actually studied to become a doctor at university, rather than the school of old wives tails. |

Live Bio yoghurts no flavourings contain masses of lactobacilli bacteria. These are also found naturally in a healthy vagina,where thay convert sugars in the vaginal wall into a weak acid. Which helps to prevent the growth of thrush. The yoghurt can be put on a tampon and inserted into the vagina for 30 minutes at a time. Repeat several times a day. When i had badys i would get this alot and this is what helped me xx i was really bad at times i know this work and natural not like alot of the treatments from the pharmacy have all sorts in them xx good luck hope this help xx jo  |

As others have said, it may not be thrush, it may be bacterial vaginosis which is a bacterial imbalance. This can be caused by stress or taking anti-biotics.
You can buy perraries at the chemist to correct the imbalance and restore your smile. |

Watch your diet as well. Cut out sugar, and bread.
Vegetables such as broccoli or cauliflower and I believe raw onions are good, plus drink plenty of water and cranberry juice. |

I've had thrush twice - both times while on holiday with girlfriends and abstaining from sex - caused by getting out of pool and lying on a sun lounger in wet synthetic bikini bottoms that were creating a hot wet environment for natural bugs always present in the vagina to multiply - one of the most ideal conditions to cause problems. |

I used to suffer from thrush all the time used to occur after sex and at lots of other times. Found out that I had a yeast intolerance. Have cut yeast from my diet and not had thrush in 18 months!
Thrush is a yeast inbalance. Your body naturally produces yeast but if you have and intolerance it will make you more prone to thrush.
I also did research and found out that a large percentage of people who are intolerant to yeast also have problems with latex!!!

You eat the veg. As stated previously in this thread thrush is a yeast infection which is caused by a fungus called candida, which lives harmlessly on your skin, in your mouth, in your gut and in your vagina. Risk factors for vaginal yeast infections include:
Being on the oral contraceptive pill
Taking oral steroids
Being pregnant
About to get your period
Being a diabetic
Sex – semen is alkaline, and candida prefers that to acidic
Using any topical applications that change your skin’s ph (ie soap, douche, bubble bath etc)
Clothing that creates a warm damp environment – for example because it is too tight, or it is synthetic and doesn’t breath.
Having sex with a partner who is infected.

Without a doubt, the best form of prevention is to take the leaves from the vegetables, put them in your back pocket and run 4 times (anti-clockwise) round a conker tree. Saying that if you have already caught it your totally fucked and need filling in with stodgy porridge. |

well i get the Tampons with plastic around .. take it out and put into yoghurt them back into the plastic tube and put in go right up inside and cools it down and take it away .. |
