I still wink profiles that I find attractive, though increasingly noticed that members say they a) either don't pay attention to them or b) see it as a lazy alternative to initiating contact...
I would be interested to hear some of your opinions and feedback! |

It should be banned so people can grow balls and message instead of hiding behind a wink. |

Unless you're a woman who's too shy to contact first then it's pointless really. |

If someone winks I check out the profile and if they meet my criteria wink back.
If they follow up with a message all well and good.
I rarely wink myself as single men tend to be igno_ed. |

"I treat winks the same way as messages. If it is someone who matches what I'm looking for I wink back if not it is deleted. Same as messages. "
Same and once met a very nice person because of one sent to me |

I got to say I like the wink, and very happy to get them. But I have noticed most people dont seem to like them as a means of say hi I like your profile or something like that. When I get one I send a message of thanks and if there is still interest, great |

You Dont Need to Know, right now |
Winks are worse than useless. I never send them, I never look at who's winked me. I wish we could turn them off - triggering a 'bounce-back' saying 'this person doesn't accept winks'. Because men think they have made an approach, whereas in fact, they aren't even on my radar. |

I normally only send a wink, if someone looks at my profile, but doesn't seem to be looking for me I.e. Their profile says they are looking for mf couples.
If I'm interested a wink shows that, and saves a message to someone whose profile implies otherwise.

I don't think it's lazy but at the same time it could mean people have looked at ur profile briefly might not be for them and what they want but still a way of saying good looking interesting profile all that |

Sometimes I send them cos I'm to lazy to write a message just for them to delete it lol, that way they can look at me and see if they like me. Most of the time I get winks from people the other side of the country |

I like getting them but it's easy when you get a few a year. It's a way of converting someone browsing your profile into something a bit more flattering - a little bit of interest. I can see why they'd just seem a bit pointless to people getting an awful lot though. |

Love winks!
Sometimes we get a well written, carefully crafted message from someone we just don't fancy at all. But we're not going to tell them that because some will respond with abuse and that's drama we don't need. We'd much rather they just sent a wink and we'll wink back if interested... then they can send the lovely message and we'll definately reply. |

We don't have time to trawl through winks checking people's profiles so we rely on messages...its a good filter too as we state this in our profile so we know that winkers haven't actually read it. |

I see winks as a way to get someones attention without having to waste a whole message if your not their type although It is true that females may get a overwhelming amount of winks... |

We look at all of our winks but generally 99 out of 100 the profile isn't for us. It's those that message us that really end up getting a reply.
I have given winks back on occasion but it's really rare! |

Only selected people get a reply from a wink. If I don't acknowledge it, then you can be pretty certain I'm not interested. |

Reading |
Have done winks now , more than messages. Messages deleted without being read, yes possibly profile looked at in stealth mode. Seem to get more responses from winks. Can then message . Normally then at least messages read . Not deleted without reading. |
