In the time I have been doing this, got to say, i've not had any silly/funny excuses, i've had people cancel for geniune reasons. And I have only encourtered 1 time waster, that was just a no show, my spidey senses were on the blink that day.

Male from couple had bad back. I heard his cries of pain over the phone as his gf apologised for having to cancel. I actually felt sorry for him...until we saw their profile verified by 2 other couples that same night and following night!  |

Got a txt from a couple 1/2 an hour before a meet saying she'd just falled down the stairs and they were on the way to A&E...
Didn't believe it, but made arrangments to meet a couple of weeks later...
This time they turned up and she had a cast on her leg. Some people will go to any lengths to get out of a meet lol.

I had to cancel a meet a few years ago because my daughter broke her arm in a riding accident..... I text them to explain and didnt hear from them again...
I had to cancel a meet because my dog escaped and was run over and killed !
I left a text while I was in tears and there response left me fuming !!
I had to cancel a weekend because my beloved brother died suddenly and didn't at that time give a monkeys about texting etc...
sometimes...just sometimes real life gets in the way !  |

baby sitter let them down , lol xx thats a good one even if not true and its really a man and you think its a woman you should be meeting and thay dont turn up , lol as never chatted on the phone just sent mail .. should know when people do not chat on phone theres somthing up , lol why do man play games like this .. on here .... why? |

Seriously, going my mine and others experiences on here, this country must have the worst, most unreliable babysitting community in Europe! I think I've had that excuse about three times now!
I had to cancel a meet once as my grandmother died the weekend before we were due to meet but her funeral was the day before the meet and didn't feel right at all and as I'd been talking to the couple for a wee while, they went totally nuts at me! Block! |

We are about 15 mins outa Pontypridd and we do go to Crawley in west sussex 2-3 times a year so get in touch !! |
Well being parents of 2 little 1s we know how hard it is to get sitters in this day and age and as we only use 1(the wifes grandparents)things do need to be proper preplanned and as we all know plans never seem to run accordingly ,we have had to pull out of meets due to the sitters letting us down but thats life but if we say we are going to meet and we dont there has been a genuine problem but luckely enuf we aint had to do it that often and we always rearange and follow through but like i said when uve got kids it does make it alot more difficult but thank god ppl know we are a trusting and gen cpl  |

we had a guy just not turn up and when i finaly got a reply to my question why he said he had been in hossie yet i knew a girl that worked for him so i asked her if he was ok now she replied that there had been nothing wrong with him healthy as an ox 
ah well such is life just wish they would be honest and admit they have wimped out even if its last min i would respect um for it oddly enough |

And yea we would say just to be honest and if the cpl you are letting down have a hissy fit then its just as well you havent met up with them ,so honesty is the best policy because ppl have a way of finding out the fibbs which paints a worser picture ov the ppl who have pulled,if we cant meet we will tell them folk what it is as it is ,we not into fabricating illaberate excuses ,if the kids are bad ,dont say they been hospatalised mun just say they bad,if the sitters have let you down dont make out that theyve had a heart attack just say ,theyve let us down and if u simply dont feel up to it just say dont pretend that uve been car jacked and held by knife point and you couldent use your fone incase u get stabbed,just say it as it is coz some of these excuses sound like theve just come straight out of a fictional space monster mag lol ,give us some credit pls we are all intelegent adults and shit does happen and more to some than others and some are just down right unlucky fekkers lol |

We wonder what a lot of people would use for excuses if they didn't have kids.
After a couple canceled because their 17 year old had a sore throat we took to only meeting childless couples, or those who's kids had left home.

I think ppl on ere are being a tad shallow towards ppl with children ,at the end of the day it goes without saying that your kids come first ,we agree that there are ppl who use they kids just as an excuse being timewasters but surley ud get to know the cpls that are genuine better and realise that there may actually be a gen excuse |

Best one i have had was when because my son didnt go to college, i cant accommodate - so not wishing to let the guy down i asked if he fancied abit of car fun he was all up for it. I said i knew a quiet spot out in the country again he was well up for it just mentioned it was up a quiet lane in the hills at which point he said he gets car sick and wont be able to make it ! |
