"Am I the only one who gets frustrated by people's spelling on here?
Text speak, incorrect spelling, or no apostrophes etc.
"
No you're certainly not the only one. There is usually a thread about this at least once a week.
I'm in the not really bothered camp, there are far worse things than bad spelling, grammar and punctuation. Long as I can make sense of what someone is trying to say, it's OK with me. |

If I get a message full of text speech then I usually delete it as I like to use as much correct spelling as possible, but lol, lmao, arc is fine.
Admittedly I make spelling mistakes so when it's obvious that's what it is it doesn't bother me in the slightest, predictive text on phones is a common issue |

You do know that was grammatically incorrect? |

Text speak irritates me. Spelling mistakes aren't normally an issue until it comes to to too two, as and has, there their and they're, where and wear.
It makes me want to just hit people, and yet I would say I'm in the age range where it all went downhill what with phones and email |

"I don't write that way. The fact that some do It doesn't faze me too much! Why is it that it bothers people? "
Dyslexia doesn't bother us but sloppiness does - sloppiness is an unattractive attribute and we don't particularly want to swing with sloppy people who think that they can get a free fuck by writing an ungrammatical message plagued with appalling spelling |

Likewise.
On an informal forum, typos, autocarrot, the odd misspelling and abused apostrophe are no big deal. You'd think people would make an effort with their profile though.
Posts/messages that are practically undecipherable put us right off for the reasons sated by the quoted poster. |

No you're not.. I won't answer any one who can't make time to spell or make sure that what they text makes sense. If they can't take the time to do this, they will hardly take the time in bed or wherever. |

I was thinking about this just now. I don't really care about spelling and grammar too much but I've noticed a trend towards spelling words how they're spoken, if like me you were taught traditional spelling seeing "yeah" written as "ye" for instance can take a few seconds to process. Also if a word sounds the same but is spelled differently to differentiate meaning it can be difficult to decipher.
In general although I accept that spelling and grammar aren't very important in this area of life there is one thing I just cannot get over and that's the use of "of" instead of "have". |

The only thing that frustrates us is the amount of people that are so bothered about spelling and punctuation . Yes text speak can be annoying but grilling people because they might forget a comma or a full stop now and again is just sad in our opinion .
But hey your all perfect I suppose |

I'm not perfect, and I never said I was.
A spelling mistake is no issue.
When I read a profile and it's in text speak or it's just lazy writing, I find that unattractive.
I look at more than just pictures when I look at a profile.
And I do have hobbies. |

"I would say about half the people on here are dyslexic "
It does seem that way sometimes
The odd spelling or punctuation mistake doesn't really bother me, as I'm not perfect myself, but a message full of them does put me off.
One thing that does drive me mad is people using been instead of being. Wtf is that all about? |
